+1, yeah, I was bored half way through, but at least he's got the Vai faces down. A lot better than I was at that age though. Of course I didn't pick up a guitar until a year later.

Re: Zach Page? 17 yrs old

Not really giving him props on his AMAZING playing, but rather the fact that he's doing it at such a young age ; v )

Gotta love the fact that it's "cool" to know how to play now as opposed to my generation when Nirvana ruled the airwaves...

Re: Zach Page? 17 yrs old

a couple of licks stuck together and a picking exercise.

But, indeed plays well for his age and has the long hair, lanky body structure and the faces for a good career

Re: Zach Page? 17 yrs old

his technique is certainly better then mine... so no complaints there... but there wasnt one in-context note in my opinion ... what happens to these kids thatt get the technique early on.. I mean they get a little bit of attention for being "unusually gifted" on their instrument and hence are a bit of a gimik for a while. But do they develop into musicians? or does the technique inhibit them in the long run? as an example does anyone know what happened to tom mcrocklin (I think that was his name)?

Re: Zach Page? 17 yrs old

Technique is great, but the musicianship...eh, not too good.

I used to be all about technique like this guy, but as of now, I'm really trying to just play by heart and forget about what note lies in which scale, etc.
