Hi all! I bought this amp through a Jemsite classified ad for $575 three years ago. Most of you know something about the Steve Vai model Legacy. Details can be found at the Carvin website and there are many posts about it in the Jemsite Forum as well.

The amp has the EL-34
Electro Harmonix tubes (they say "made in Russia" on them) that came when I bought it. Until I sold the cab this week, I had run this 100w head through the Legacy 2x12
extension cab. I LOVED the sound of this amp. Even though I ran it at 50 watts and as an apartment-dweller could never turn it up past 1.5 on the volume -- I love the way it sounds. I know that I've barely given it a workout and it was just not a practical purchase for me. (A silly one, yeah, okay.) If I remember right, the young guy I bought the amp from had wanted to get a Mesa Boogie, he was into harder metal sounds I think. I used a wah pedal, occasionally a Boss DS-1, and that's it with the Legacy. I did note when I first got the amp that it is the kind of amp that made me want to play better. It's been a pleasure to use. I especially love the reverb, even at low volumes, and the the consistency I get with the tone -- I'm not the kind of player always experimenting with different tones. I play a Jem7vwh and strangely enough have been accused of being a Vai freak.
The previous owner made a two small cutouts in the screw-off back panel, I think for easier access to the tubes. Cosmestically insignificant, and no discernible effect at all. I can send a picture. I never gigged with the amp, it never left my apartment.
Prefer to deliver with my car, to NYC, Western LI, Northern NJ, Westchester; or anywhere in Conn, RI, Massachusetts. $525 includes delivery to those areas and I will consider other areas too. FS-22 footswitch (which I purchased from Carvin separately) for channel-switching and reverb thrown in at no cost, along with a vinyl/rubber Carvin cover for the amp.
For the moment I am not interested in trades.
Thanks for your interest!
