Here is a 1999 Ibanez RG7420 7-string electric in excellent condition. Ibanez calls the finish magenta crush, but it's really a metallic light red. The guitar is made in Japan, in Ibanez's Fujigen plant, as you can see from the serial number pic below (a serial number starting with "F" means Fujigen). This is the plant where Ibanez's highest quality guitars are made. The trem is the Lo-TRS7, which stays in tune great on this guitar. Don't confuse it with the cheaper TRS-II Ibanez used to put on their non-MIJ guitars. The TRS7 is made in Japan of hardened metal; on the sustain block it says "Takeuchi / made in Japan." The guitar plays wonderfully, with a great neck and frets. Everything is stock (V8-7 and V7-7 pickups, TRS7 trem, Ibanez special 5-way switch, etc.) and it includes the original trem bar and an Ibanez M100C plush hardshell case. It's currently set up with 9-42+54
gauge strings, with an action height at fret 24 of 1.9mm on the high E and 2.0mm on the low B. With this set up there is minimal acoustic fret buzz, and none (to my ear) that makes it through the amp. The neck is straight and there is no fretwear, as you can see for yourself in the pictures. Due to lack of recent use the volume pot crackles a little, and the tone pot crackles more. I suspect this will go away with regular use, since I never had any problems when it was my main player.
Cosmetically, I would rate this guitar as very good. The finish is great with the exception of a few minor dings and chips, as shown in the pics. There is one small chip on the lower cutaway on the front, one very tiny one on the edge of the neck pickup route. There is a bigger one on the back on the belly cut-out, with a few dings near it. Also, I haven't shown it in the pics, but in the trem
spring cavity a hole has been drilled between the two claw screws for a Tremsetter that was once installed. It's only visible when the trem cavity cover is off, and it doesn't affect the performance of the guitar at all, but I thought I'd mention it to be complete.
It's a great guitar and I'll be sad to see it go, but I just have too many guitars and need to thin the herd down to the guitars I play most (mostly fixed-bridge, as I'm hooked on them now).
For payment I accept Paypal, with shiping to confirmed addresses only.
The guitar will be carefully packed in its case, inside a sturdy box.
