Made in Japan
Epiphone Elite Les Paul
Standard, Ebony finish. This is a 2003, when they were still calling them “Elite” and opposed to “Elitist.” There is a lot of mis-information about these guitars, so here are some facts: This was Epiphone’s attempt at the higher end market. These are made in the Japanese Fuji-gen factory: same place they made the high-end Ibanez and the older Orville Les Pauls. Imagine a Les Paul with the Ibanez Prestige craftsmanship and quality control and you get the idea. The Elite models have some high end features you’d be hard pressed to find on a production Gibson, much less a standard Epi such as:
• Long Neck tenon
• 2 piece NON CHAMBERED OR WEIGHT RELIEVED Mahogany body, Maple top
• 1 piece Mahogany neck
• USA Electronics including, Gibson- made USA pickups (Gibson 490 series, basically)
• Grover tuners and old-style bridge hardware
• Bone nut
• Real Abalone and pearl inlays
• Thin, hand rubbed poly finish (not nitro, but like a PRS finish)
This one is in great shape with some minimal play wear, mainly light scratches on the back of the guitar. No dings or scratches through the finish. Case is also in top condition. Comes with all hangtags and paperwork, truss wrenches, etc. $650 shipped in the lower 48.
