The neck came off of an RG270DX- got the guitar because i liked the neck with the shark tooth inlay. I also took the knobs and pup rings from that guitar and the lock nut.
The body came off of an RG320QSTR- quilted sapelle top with a mahogany back- gotta love mahogany!
The bridge is a lo trs II and for all its bad press... I haven't had any issues with it at all. the posts and cavity however will support an original floyd rose it that is your fancy.
I got the pots 500k from Big Dude's Music City in down town Kansas city. and I had them wire the pick ups for me and set up the guitar.
The back of the neck doesnt have a neck plate it has that contour shaped neck joint which is nice.
THe pick ups are a dimarzio" tone zone" in the
bridge position.
A dimarzio "the breed" designed for steve vai in the
neck position. (I really like this pup)
added bonus - i coil tapped both pups so you get to have a strat sound too! I love having versatility with a guitar.
all the electronics are new and i polished the frets up when i put it together.
The only reason i dont keep the guitar is i like the feel of the radius neck better. The wizard II is very fast and flat and i think a bit wider. I think i just have grown accustomed to the feel of the radius neck.... if i was smart i should have just put on one of those on this guitar....
