I'm selling my RG1570 to save up for a custom Carvin. I love this guitar, but I just don't use it as much as it deserves. It's
unique looking, I took good care of it, I love to play it, but everything about this guitar is meant for a crazy shredder. I'd sell it to the lead player in my band (he really rips on this guitar) but he doesn't have the cash, and he's pretty happy with his Jackson. The prospect of having a USA-made maple neck-thru a mahogany body, in the finish of my choosing, with the bridge of my choosing, is just too enticing.
The serial number on the headstock reads "F0242428-Made In Japan" which, according to The Guitar Dater Project website, means this guitar's history is as follows:
Fuji-gen Plant, Japan
2002
Production Number: 42428
All of the hardware is original and in very good working order. I installed an
EMG Zakk Wylde set of humbuckers (EMG-85 in the bridge, EMG-81 in the neck) and an EMG-SA in the middle position. I know what many of you will say about me putting the 81 in the neck position instead of the bridge, but trust me, it sounds great. The 85 in the bridge is just as brutal as the 81, except it has well-rounded highs and more gritty mids and beefy low end. Plus it's a simple swap anyway. The 5-way selector switch works like so:
Pos 1: Bridge
Pos 2: Bridge & Middle
Pos 3: Middle
Pos 4: Middle & Neck
Pos 5: Neck
I also installed a mini toggle switch as a killswitch.
The finish was done by me. I got pretty sick of the sparkly blue paint being so sparkly and blue, so I started sanding. Then I sprayed 3 cans of Stewart MacDonald's satin nitrocellulose lacquer on it, wet sanding every 3rd coat. I took extra care in not screwing it up, both in the finish and reassembly. There are no cracks in the corners of the neck pocket, either. It looks sick. It comes with an Ibanez hardshell case (they didn't come with the red J-custom cases when I bought this guitar), the whammy bar, and the 3 wrenches for the tremolo and the truss rod.
I'd like $800 for this guitar with the case. I'm pretty firm on it, but deals can be made. I'll most likely list it on America's favorite auction site, but if anyone is interested or has any questions, feel free to email me.
