I know this isn’t the ideal way to do this, but here goes anyway… I’m about to start a major sell off of all my guitars that aren’t getting regular playing time. I’ve settled into 3-4 (OK, maybe more like 5-6) that I use a lot and the others have got to go. I obviously went through a major acquisition phase in which I tried out a whole slew of Ibanez. The ones I still have left are all in excellent shape except as noted.
I haven’t figured out prices on these guys yet, so I’m just providing a laundry list of what I have. I wanted to give JemSiters first crack at them before they go off to that other dark corner of the galaxy where people sell stuff. No… actually my problem is that I’m either too scared or lazy to get ‘em listed. Anyway, here’s what I got. If something strikes your fancy, let me know and I can send pics, discuss prices, cases, and all that.
LOCKING TREM GUITARS
RG3120TW (2002): basically perfect condition except for a down to wood chip on the upper body (from a bump on the dealer’s wall) which I had professionally repaired. You know the scoop on this one: Tone Zone + PAF Pro, LoPro Edge trem,
Prestige Wizard neck, ahhh, so lovely…
I have a number of S540s and haven’t figured out which I’ll be parting with yet, so let me know if you’re just goofy to have one and I’ll get serious about figuring it out. These include:
Ibanez S540FM (1992) Cherry wine color. Gold hardware, bound Wizard neck with gold hardware, Lo Pro Edge trem. IBZ pickups. This is a beautiful guitar.
Ibanez S540QM (199

"Trans-black" (but actually more brown than black). QM pickups, “Custom” inlay, LoPro trem
Ibanez S540 LTD: (1992) Emerald green (?), sharkfin inlays, IBZ pickups, LoPro trem
Ibanez S470FM (1996) Trans-green, gold hardware, Wizard II neck (nice oval inlays, not the ugly squiggle things they’ve done since), Edge trem (yes, I replaced the TRS), Duncan Screamin Demon pickup in bridge
NON-LOCKING TREM GUITARS:
Ibanez 540SC (1989-90; called 540SCT6 in the 90 catalog): cherry sunburst with AANJ, Wizard neck, IBZ/Dimarzio HSH pickups, HQ non-locking trem, locking tuners, mahogany body
Ibanez 540SC (1989-90): yes, another one only this one is a black sunburst, same features as above
Ibanez SV470 (1993): natural oil finish, gold hardware, locking tuners, vintage style TZ trem, HSH pickups, Viper neck, mahogany body. Has original hang tags, manual, etc.
Ibanez SV420 (1995): another
vintage style trem guitar with a Viper neck, dual humbucker configuration, gold hardware, quilted maple top, mahogany body, original tags
Ibanez SA160QM (2001) in amber. Perfect condition with tags and the rest of the Iby accoutrements
Ibanez RT450 (1993): I actually have 3 of these (I obviously like ‘em), one amber (GONE) and 2 tobacco burst. For those not familiar with the RT line, these are among the finest Ibanez vintage strat-style offerings. Very nice Viper necks, HSH (V-series) with tortoise shell style pickguards. Locking tuners, TZ trems. I’ll wind up selling at least one and possibly two of these.
Ibanez 430SII (1990-91) Black with HQ trem, 3 SB single coils transplanted from a 542R, Wizard neck, locking tuners. This is the only one of the herd that’s not in excellent + condition. It has an area on the lower edge of the body where the paint is worn off.
Jackson PS7 (2000): Japanese made, HSS pickups, Wilkinson trem, very nice green stain finish on an alder body, this is a very nice vintage style guitar
OK, that's it for now. There's more, but that list is embarassing enough for starters.
Later,
Bert
