PRS Standard 22 Style Guitar
I'll try to describe this best I can.
This was a PRS Standard 22 Satin Charcoal guitar. When I took it in trade it was fairly abused. It had stickers and graffiti all over. The knobs were missing and one of the tuners damaged.
So I removed all of the custom artwork and found that it was covering some nastiness in the nitro satin paint. So I stripped all of the paint (that I could) with lacquer thinner and sanded out almost all of the bumps and bruises. There is still one on the horn but I didn't want to sand it off so I raised the grain as best I could.
Also the raised 'rim' around the perimeter of the guitar was nasty so I ended up just sanding it off.
When I had it to the point it is now my lovely wife said it looked 'different' so I decided not to paint it and just threw on a coat of clear lacquer. The body is one piece as well as the neck.
I replaced the tuners and cleaned up the hardware.
I don't use tone controls so there are two volume controls and a three-way switch.
Before you make any judgments just let me say that this guitar is incredibly light. The action is very low… And it sounds like the shiat plugged into my Boogie.
Sorry no trades on this - I would not sell it if I did not need the cash.
And if you still don't think I'm crazy I'm asking $1500.
Oh, and I cleand up the case as well but it has some damage on the back under the body padding. It did its job well.
