Item for sale: RG5XX with custom Mahogany/Maple body
Description & Condition: Very good condition, the neck, Edge, and hardware is from a 570, the pickups are a
DiMarzio Steve's Special in the bridge and a Humbucker from Hell in the neck. No 5-way switch or tone control, the volume pot is a push pull pickup selector. The body is gorgeous, the clear coat isn't as good, I did it by hand and it didn't come out as good as I would have liked, but it is playable as is. The
DiMarzio cliplock strap is also included and it will come in a nice Ibanez molded case.
The 2 problems with it, other than the amatuer-ish clear coat, are there is a small hairline crack in the trem cavity, it is from the stud holes not being deep enough when I pressed the studs in, I pulled the stud, deepened the hole, and put them back, I also shot Hot Stuff super glue in the crack. The other thing is that the holes for the trem spring claw aren't in exactly the right spot, but it works fine. You can see it in the back picture. They were stupid mistakes on my part, but I don't have the time to redo the body right now.
This guitar plays and sounds great! The problems sound worse than they are and have no effect on tone or playability. The finish isn't as bad as it sounds either, but it could be better. It is polished out, but has swirl marks, no one will notice from a couple of feet away.
