Trading 2 JACKSON's (incl Randy Rhoads RR5) for YOUR Ibanez JEM 777

Posted 2-11-2005

I have a 1 year old, White, with black stripes, minty fresh, Jackson Randy Rhoads RR5 V - American Made with original case. Rosewood fretboard, NECKTHROUGH version, String through the body, with gold hardware. I am ordering 2 new gold pieces (pickguard and string thru area "V," so it will be brand spanking new for you. Case alone is $200. New Parts are $55.00 - but both are included in the trade. Brand new, dead mint, perfect frets - but I want my Ibanez JEM back. $1350 guitar.

PLUS I have a black, Japanese Made, Jackson Dinky XL, Brand new condition, no scratches, all the original parts, EMG's, with a Floyd Rose, rosewood fretboard, and case. $500 guitar.

Looking to trade BOTH for any year JEM - but only if in as fantastic condition as I keep my guitars, with no modifications -

Lochness green preferred, then Floral, then Yellow, then Pink - in this order.

Let me know soon.

Well, besides the fact that the RR5 is Japanese, this shouldn't really be here.

In response to the erroneous reply above:

My Jackson, is the RR5. It is a neck thru and string thru, with 2 real Seymour Duncans, not the Duncan Designed pickups. It is made here, in good old America.

The much cheaper one, the RR3, with a bolt on neck and tremolo is made in Japan.

Glad to see this moved.

Are you really going to push this? Got pics of the headstock showing the Made in USA logo? Because if you own an RR5 I guarantee it isn't made in the US.

RR1/RR1T = USA Select Series, about 30 finish options, made in the USA.

RR3 and RR5 = Pro Series, about 3-5 finish options, made in Japan.

The RR5 sells new for $1100. The RR1 sells new for $2000. See the difference? If you have an RR1 and didn't know the model number I'm sorry, but selling a RR5 as a Made in USA guitar is wrong, IMO.

There is no question that the RR5 is MIJ as is the RR-3 the difference between the RR-5 and the three is it being a bolt on to neckthru and Real Duncans plus it is string thru... A nice guitar for sure... MIJ. The USA RR-1 has an OFR Duncans and an Ebony board and the RR-1T is a string through like the RR-5 but once again has an Ebony board. The RR-5 has no neck binding and is the highend Japanese line along with the SL-3 (which is similar in MIJ features compared to US as this)

you are absolutely incorrect. it is very misleading to advertise this guitar as american made. no RR5 is american made. they are part of the PRO series, just like the RR3.

Gee.... I wonder where tonymeoli went?

Darn it...., I've got a good ol' USA Squire Strat he may be interested in purchasing from me- seeing as it's an American made guitar 'n all.............

RULE #1: Get you facts straight to post around here- this Jem-family will EAT YOU FOR LUNCH if your facts are less than truthful (or you will most likely look like a complete idiot....)

Randy Rhoads RR5

Dear Jem Board Posters,

I stand corrected, as the RR5 is the high end Japanese version of the Rhoads model.

Have a nice day.
