I would like to buy a rg321 or mabye a 421. it is going to be used for a project guitar and i'm in need of one soon so i can start my project. If anyone has one or knows someone who can cut me a deal i would greatly appreciate their guitar. Dude, you can get a NEW RG321 for less than $300 with free shipping from various online retailers so I'm assuming that you're looking to spend less than that. Personally, I'd just go ahead and buy a new one because now they have mahogany bodies.

Ah yes, that is correct: the Korean 321's are a definite price drop. On the other hand, if you want a mint Japanese one in Royal Blue (both of which increase the value), you can expect to pay more. That's why I mentioned that it probably wouldn't be suitable for a project.

Incidentally, (at the risk of straying too far afield in the Classified section and incurring the wrath of the moderators), I am not among the rabid detractors of Korean made Ibanez. I think there are some terrific Korean made models out there now, and I believe the 321 is a great value. I owned one for awhile and have played several others. But there was a reason Ibanez changed the model number from 421 to 321 -- there was some magic in the 421 (see the many threads discussing it when they first appeared) that just didn't translate to the 321. Nonetheless, for a project guitar, it'd be hard to beat the 321. Definitely a good choice. At the price Elcid gave for the blem one, you simply can't go wrong: mod away to your heart's content...

And finally, I quoted an "asking price" which implies the price is negotiable. I'm just in no hurry to sell it. I'm moving lots of guitars these days, and the RG421 is not one I'm eager to part with.
