WTB Some of the better ibanez stock P/U
Looking to buy some QM 1/2 or a pair of the better stock Ibanez pickups as a budget upgrade to my Vs. I am open to suggestions, I just tossed the Quantums out as an idea becasue people seem to like them and I want something with a ceramic magnet. I know the V1/2 is also decent, but I do not want to possibly play around with changing magnets.
thanks.

If you want to try the V7/8s with the magnet swap, but are too worried about doing the work yourself I have a set already d

Sorry, iPhone accidental post button bump. I've got a set with the magnets already swapped. We can swap plus $30+postage for the work done. If you are interested just send me your pickups and PayPal the payment and postage (we can work out postage from me to you) and I'll send you out the modified ones when your stock ones arrive.

I was thinking about the magnet swap on the Vs, since people do seem to be really happy with it.

Well just let me know if you are interested in my ones, or even if you need a hand doing the swap yourself. I have some DIY info on my blog on how to do it.

I am mulling swapping ceramic magnets into a v1/v2 combo, which I heard makes those pickups even better. I may have you do that, if you have extra magnets sitting around. I need to get the pickups first though.

I think I have one or two magnets sitting around. Not sure how the ceramic affects the tone of the V1/V2 though. They may be too bright and twangy. That's what I discovered with a PAF Pro, which the V2 bridge is similar to. Alnico 8 may be a better prospect. I have a few of those lying around. PM me if you want to discuss further.

I must have happened along your blog or write up. The person talking about changing magnets in the V2 said the Alnico 8 was a better match. lol

Re: WTB Some of the better ibanez stock P/U
I got some Quantums that had short enough legs to be direct mounted. Sound much fuller, tone is more even, and lively than the Vs. The Vs were kind of flat and did not have much character. They were ok over-driven, but clean were not very pleasant sounding.
Just an FYI 4 wire Quantums are not wired like a Dimarizio, they are wired like a 4 wire V7.
