Hi....Yes. A few years back I had an 8 ohm hotplate which I used with my Carvin Legacy head.
Didn't like the effect at all. I thought it really effected the tone in a bad way especially at high levels of attenuation.
I now use the Mass III with my Legacy. It really does what it says it should, The Mass III is the newest of the atttenuator models developed by Ted Weber.
As you probably know it uses a speaker motor rather than a resistor as in the hotplate so it has a more natural effect.
I use it in my semi detatched cottage and am able to crank the Legacy Lead channel to around half volume with the Gain set on 7 and the windows stay in!!
Dunno if you are familar with the Legacy but it is one LOUD mother of an amp!!!
I bought one from Ted in the US a couple of months back & the total cost including shipping VAT & import duty ended up at around £275. Quite a lot I know but I reckon it was worth it.

Hope that helps!?
