WTT: Strats for keyboards

Wanted: To trade one or two Strats for one or two synths, preferably VA's, but I'm flexible. If I could trade both for an Oberheim OB-12 or a Roland JD-800 in good working order, that would be ideal.

Description & Condition:
The black strat: This came to me as a Mexican Strat that had a lot of chips and dings all over the body. It did however, have a decent set of tuning pegs. So...the Mexican pickups and pickguard were tossed in favor of a new set of far superior Carvin AP-11's and a new pickguard. Master Vol, Master Tone, and an on/off for the bridge single, so you can have neck and bridge or all 3 pickups on at once. Neck was put aside in favor of a Charvel Model 1 neck with Maple board, which also has an Earvana nut. This neck is mighty, and much more like a Wizard than your typical strat neck. More like a Wizard does not mean "it's the same as a Wizard" The only sore point then (besides the finish) was the bridge, which I replaced with an American Fender traditional bridge to get the big steel sustain block. She looks like she's 100, but plays and sounds fantastic. Gig bag, unless you blow me away with an offer. I also have a black form fitting hard case, and a nice rectangular tweed jobby.

The Seafoam Strat: A total partscaster, this has an Alder WD body painted Seafoam green. The maple neck was described to me as coming from a Japanese Fender (and is of that quality), but it doesn't say Japan so I'm thinking it's actually a US made replacement neck with a Fender waterslide. Black pickguard with what I believe are USA Fender pickups. They look and sound like the USAs, and I've had many Strats. She also has a vintage style trem, but it's a Wilkinson trem, not a Fender. There are no marks on this guitar, and she looks fantastic and sounds heavenly. Clean through a tube amp, it's just awesome. Black hardshell case with this one, but again, the nice tweed case could get thrown in there as well.

Asking Price: I'm not looking to sell either right now, but maybe in a week or two if I have to. I'm looking to add to my small synthesizer collection, so trades for keyboards (or rack modules) only for now. I might be interested in anything, even if it's 20 years old, so let me know what you've got! I can do one for one, two for one, one for two, etc.

My Location: South Jersey, USA

Terms of Sale/Purchase: I would be very happy to meet and swap, even traveling 100 miles or so if need be, but we'll see what happens. I can certainly mail and all that other more mundane stuff. If I mail to you and you mail to me, that obviously works. If you drive to my house with keyboards and leave with guitars, then you get Flying Fish as well (Google it if you're not from Jersey ) Sort of a parting gift!

Other Information: I have some preliminary pics of both on my webspace in : http://jim777.com/images/Strat/
Pics that start with S_*.* are the black strat. I'll take more soon, but if you're interested and want to see more of something just let me know. One of the pics shows a reddish strat I no longer have, so...I no longer have it.

Also, If you have something like an OB-8 or Minimoog lying around, I would certainly consider digging deeper into the guitar collection to deal
I have a Yamaha YDP-223 and Motif 6 already.

Thanks,

jim

Re: WTT: Strats for keyboards

The Seafoam Strat is gone for a nice E-mu Proteus MPS+ Orchestral, the black Strat is still available. Will still consider anything (pretty much) except for drum machines. Let me know what you've got!

thanks,

jim
