INFORM YOURSELF BETTER!!!
Im talking about paypal protection. Last time I checked, I had the option to send money through paypal from my bank account. (Not that I do. I use credit cards through paypal) You don't need a credit card to send money through paypal.

So once again, where does PAYPAL protect you on a forum like jemsite?

Re: Announcement

I accept anything.. 90% of the time I leave it up to the consumer to figure out how they want to pay.. Just for the record

Now I said I wasnt going to post in this and I lied..

Re: Announcement

I never mention any of this protection stuff you people are talking about. NOTHING!
So fight it out about paypal protection, maybe I should have named 10 other ways to pay by credit card online, but who knew this would be so touchy.
I blame myself for being vague in my use of paypal I should have been more detailed as to why I mention it, others are wrong to call something ignorant, when it's their assumptions.
Sorry guys! This has been an ok debate, nobody has really been mean.

Calling his post stupid or ignorant is senseless. Besides with as much fraud that is going on, I feel the same way. If I plan on selling something I'm also going to include any transaction fees..... bottom line if I truly want to sell something I WILL try to accommodate the buyer. Both parties should feel comfortable with the transaction. Same with making purchases..... trust no one when it comes to your hard earned money...... JMHO
I never mentioned the safety factors or the lack of safety using Paypal either.... but involving a credit card does add some degree of "extra" protection. My statement was referring to BOTH parties feeling "good or comfortable" about a transaction... I would hope anyone would employ some common sense whether buying or selling! But I've seen people from this very forum purchase Chibanez guitars!
Bottom line: I still think poor judgment was used in "welcoming" someone to Jemsite by calling their second post stupid or ignorant. How welcome would you have felt if someone had called your first or second post stupid or ignorant??? I sure think people would get along better using thought and tolerance as opposed to harsh or insensitive attitude.

Koss my friend I would like to explain to you the ins and outs of online credit card dealings but I need to go play my axes!!! seriously though all I will tell you is that there is (usually) a way to recoup ALL your funds, you just have to know how to go about it! whether you use credit cards or your bank account and definitely is not solely through paypal,'cause they can really screw you big time if you rely entirely on them!!!
I've worked with the fraud departments of several banks and credit card companies for over 6 years! I think that should give me and edge don't you think?!? just remeber though NOTHING is 100% SAFE.

Re: Announcement

This is a very good thread to have on this site.
So actually I did what I wanted..
My point for the record is the act of using a credit card if you missed it. A serious seller should always offer this form of payment especially when dealing in high priced items.
There are advantages and it's a good idea to find out for yourself if you don't know.
Ok guys good thread, there is information in here other members of your site will get.

Now I swear to the gods of Jems I will not post in this thread again LMAO...

Shame you have to go play your guitars, because I was really looking forward to you explaining the ins and outs to me.

None of your replys to my posts were corrections to hat I said. You never said "well actually Koss, if you do this, this and this, there is a good chance you'd get your money back"

I'm not saying you're wrong. I know I can dispute with Visa about online transactions. When it comes to my bank account funds, honestly, I don't know how I can recoupe my funds aside from police envolvement.(Which can be done for checks or MO's aswell, and my point was that paypal is no safer than those two options)

So please, with your next reply, post something useful. Don't give me any "I know, but im not telling you" bullcrap.

And for the record, im at work right now. Who do I work for? Mastercard. So don't say I don't know how to use a damn credit card.

Re: Announcement

Thanks everyone, I will come of harsh to some sometimes, but honestly I don't mean to be that way, I love this site and I love Jems. I will never cause any trouble here on purpose.
I will be more clear when I post a topic next time, currently I'm a little frustrated with Jem shopping and this may have lead to an unclear post.
