Wow! I know this guitar was given away by Vai in some kind of charity auction or something! I wonder what the reserve is?

Re: Anybody seen this?

This is fishy to me. The guy has a horrible feedback score, and the pix don't appear to be his. One of them even has vai.com listed on it. If I were interested, I would ask for very specific pictures.

I think the first pic is his. It does say that he has the proof to prove it is real

Re: Anybody seen this?

Yeah, but his feedback sucks. Now with Evilbay's new feedback policy, you can't even see it, because it is older than 12 months. If you were trying to sell a$10K plus guitar, wouldn't you include some good pictures? I could be wrong, but there are numerous red flags.

Dont get me wrong, I totally agree with you, also its p/u only so I guess you would get a good chance to inspect it before buying. As for evilbays new policys and pricing it all sucks now

Re: Anybody seen this?

How about getting in touch with the raffle winner through Vai.com, maybe he could shed some light... Its been a while (end of Ultra Zone tour) but maybe they can still contact him and see if he sold it or whatever...

Re: Anybody seen this?

Well, the general location is real.
The guitar was given away through a raffle on Vai.com, and ended up going to a guy in Sweden...

However, like mentioned by others, if you're trying to sell something like that, you better cough up some decent pix. Don't have a camera? Don't place the auction until you can borrow your neighbors point-n-shoot......

Exactly, I would have to have very convincing evidence that this guy actually has the guitar.

Re: Anybody seen this?

I sent the guy an evilbay question as follows:

"Can you post some pictures of the guitar that are not from Vai.com? Can you discuss the proof that you have to validate it?"

Lets see what he comes back with...
