Anyone bought a neck from Legacy One?
Hey guys, anyone bought one of these? I'm very interested in getting one, and just wondered if anyone had any experience with them; opinions etc.?
Thanks

There are at list 2 that bought complete guitars and they sound very happy with their purchase. The pictures he is posting in his thread are very tempting as well.

I wouldnt hesitate to order one.
I have been very close to pulling the trigger a few times, but have held off because its been Xmas and stuff. From what I have seen and heard, he does nothing but great work.
And most importantly, at a reasonable price.

Damn right. I mean, he's charging me $215 for a rw/maple neck with a red vine inlaid!!! If the quality really does turn out to be at least decent, what a deal! Over here, after tax, shipping, etc, $303, which is £154.53. That's about the price of a decent RG neck on e'bay.

Wow- I thought that $200-ish was the base price *before* the inlay.

Re: Anyone bought a neck from Legacy One?
I bought a neck attached to a guitar
Thie neck plays very well. Good feel. The inlay is done nicely, except there are a lot of gaps in the resin between the inlays and the board. Pretty easy fix though and I think John is working to correct the issue on future necks.

Me too, but WOW. I love the fact that this guy isn't just jumping on the 'custom' band wagon and making ridiculous upcharges for every little thing (an inlay job at Max Cottam in £265 on its own! That's over $500. Freakin rip off IMHO), but rather, in the full knowledge that he probably could, is going "Hell, all I need to do is program the CNC, why should my customers pay a premium?". Very honest of him.
If he keeps up a service like this, Legacy One may be just what all us Ibanez lovers who can't afford a true custom need. I'll certainly post a review when I get my neck.

Re: Anyone bought a neck from Legacy One?
Okay, okay, enough of the no-responding to e-mail jokes. I will have everyone know that I respond to ALL of my e-mails.
newbie... I replied to every single one of your PM's. We basically conversed for about an hour back and forth. I didn't know that we left it with any more questions.
People are going to start receiving all the pieces and parts from me shortly. I'm sure that reviews will be piling up.
There is a reason that they don't make necks out of zebra wood. I'm finding that only about 1 in 3 actually end up making it to a completed neck. The rest of them shatter, split, splinter, crack, etc. That is a hard wood to work with.
Anyway, that's the review for now.
Thanks.
