Re: beautiful swirl on **** but worth it?

Waaaaay too much now. That $700 jump smells like some old-fashioned shill bidding.

Winning bidder was $1515. Beautiful swirl, but consider how you could buy an old fixer-upper RG and have one of the many talented swirlers on this site give you a nice swirl for a tad over half that (if you bought new pickups or whatever). I'm building a swirled Jem copy and here's my price rundown

swirled body- $250 from fellow Jemsiter
maple fb AANJ neck plus tuners- $125 from the 'bay
green tone zone and air nortion- $50/set on the 'bay
Edge trem + studs- $100 on the 'bay
green Dimarzio straplocks- $12 from Jemsiter
knob set- $10
electronics- already had 'em

total: about $550, and probably not $1000 worse than that one.

And now with the bidder's identities being secret there is going to be shill bidding left and right!!!

I won't be surprised if some of those guitars with "hidden" bidders will be re auctioned due to non paying bidders.

Look at this from a point of an entrepreneur. The owner of the guitar is very enterprising indeed. From an old unused guitar, he turned it into a money making machine. It is legal and it is very business minded. I say that is creative of him
