Re: Brazilian Scammer Victims Unite

I got a similar offer right now. Check this:

Dear XY,

I can put this guitar on hold until monday next week, but i will need to check with another buyer from Spain who contacted me first, if he don't confirm it until thursday i'll put this JPM 90th on hold to you. I am based in Curitiba, Brazil. Here some references from my last deals in Europe:

Ettore Feltrinelli (Perugia, Italy) ettorologio64 at libero.it,
Kyle Randal Dillingham (Cardiff, UK) krd at hertspost.co.uk,
Gáspár Mészáros (Budapest, Hungary) pusztai6 at mailbox.hu,
Jesper Nřrgaard (Aalborg, Denmark) jesperolavnorgaard at jubii.dk,
Clément Menard (Grenoble, France) clmtemps at voila.fr

Also I sold my Ibanez Jem 10th recently, and the buyer is very interested to purchase the JPM 90th HAM but he need to sell his JEM DY on weekend, so if you're willing to purchase the guitar until monday next week we have a deal. I only accept moneygram, please check at moneygram dot com to find if there's any local agent near your address. Here's my information needed to set up the payment transfer:

NAME: Rafael Camargo
ADDRESS: Rua Joao Haupt 2199
CITY: Curitiba
STATE: PR
ZIPCODE: 81420206
COUNTRY: Brazil
AMOUNT: 1550 eur

I'll need your FULL NAME and ADDRESS where you want to receive the Ibanez, so i can write in the UPS box, i'll send it through UPS Worldwide Express (4 business days delivery in Germany, insured) as the payment is confirmed with the transfer number.

Best Regards,
Rafael

It's the same scumbag, did he contact you though a PM here, or by your email address [which is the reason you never post an email address with a classified]?

we need someone to send him a money order at one of his fake mail boxes with some kind of gps tracker in the package that will catch this scum bag. he obviously has some kind of p.o boxes set up in all these countries they most likely just forward to his real address this method would catch him.

Just on this board. I posted something similar over at Sevenstring.org, but
without my email address and I didn´t get a pm there, so I take it he got
my address from my post here.

Wow guys, im shocked that so many of you guys got ripped off.

Using payment options like western union should be your first warning that the deal is a dodge. Western union is the most unsafest way to pay a stranger for an item of value...

I hope someone catches him.

+1

Western Union should be an IMMEDIATE red flag that you're dealing with a scammer, particularly on big ticket items. You have NO buyer protection through WU like you would using PayPal or even your Visa or MC. Money orders are likewise risky. Also, never give out your bank account information or personal identifiers. If you're dealing with a reputable international dealer (like Ishibashi), then use your CC. If it's a personal transaction, I suggest PayPal. Sure people bitch about the fees, but buyers do get a lot of protection through PP. Better to eat $50 in fees than $2000 lost to a scammer.

Let me say it again - if you send WU or money orders, count on kissing that money goodbye. Period.

Re: Brazilian Scammer Victims Unite

yes by now we r the last people in the world that need a lecture about credibility of online sales. Live and learn the western union thing has already discussed and the thread is at the point of information compilation on said scammer. thanks for your wisdom, but its not going to change the past for those individuals (or make them feel better :P ).
