Re: Christopher Woods?

After seeing that pic, I think the bright white grainless maple really doesn't contrast well with the dark amber body. Some nice Pau Ferro or Macassar Ebony for a board would look killer, or even a highly figured birdseye or flamed maple with a light amber clear if you really want maple.

If you're going to get a body from Chris you may as well fo the exotic wood route. He really does very nice woodwork.

Re: Christopher Woods?

All I can comment on is the work I have had done for me. I ordered 2 custom flame guitars from Christopher and both came out as TOP quality construction and on time as promised.

I currently bought a JS1 from Rich that was pretty nasty (finish wise) and sent it to BC guitars to have a rainforest paintjob done to it and to sand the dinks out of the headstock and repaint it and put a green Ibanez logo on it. Then it is off to Christopher to have a new fretboard put on with green LED's. I have no doubt I will get it on time as promised and the work will be nothing short of what I have come to expect from him.

I was amazed to see the amount of orders he has taken and the amount of business he is doing. For a "one man business" he has got to be the busiest man I know!

All I can say is to hang in there. Christopher is a stand up guy that can be fully trusted. He is not in any way shady in the slightest and if you are not happy he will make it right. You will be amazed with the product once its in your hands and thats what counts in my book.

Keep Rockin Guys,

Rikk Beatty

Re: Christopher Woods?

Hello, I was just looking over the thread and thought that I'd post an update here. I have been back to work for the past couple of weeks. Yeah the Kidney Stones were and experience and not one that I recommend. But I have been busting my tail to get caught up on work and here is the plan for the remainder of 06 going in to 07. First of all the wife is out of town next week so I plan to get in about 10 twelve hour days.:-) I think I will be shipping half of my orders by next week and be back down to a reasonable 20 jobs to finish. But the plan is to finish most of my current workload by December. I'll be cutting off all orders by December 15th and taking a breather and then I have plans to build a new workshop in January. 2007 in a new workshop will... give me a better setup to work in and production should be much faster with some additional tools and possibly an employee. Also, I have tons of new abailities that I haven't even scratched the surface on. Mirror tops, Carve tops, 3D guitar bodies, new LED's with function controllers, and I am working on a barritone neck that will go directly on an existing guitar witout any modifications, and lots more... But my biggest goal for '07 is to really run a tight production and get orders out on time. I am really looking forward having a killer year.
