Btw, when did you order your guitar?
I ordered mine on the 4th of January 2007 - and have been in the final details section for (if memory serves correct?) around 11 months

Oh! I have been around since late '07 early '08 iirc . But, some delay was due to my indecisiveness too. I think the new orders are being turned out faster though according to his orders page.

And it's good to see him updating the photo gallery daily, atleast we get to know what's getting done . Btw, are you Zakk Z? Looks like yours is kinda done

Re: Christopher Woods?

the guy is the biggest screw job going. its a shame i'm so far away from CA. i just decided to eat my deposit, fortunetally it wasnt to substancial considering.

took the peckah-hed 2 years to get to my order before it was qued into production. then he builds the guitar the way he wants disreguarding certain specs that just made the guitar undesirable. that was 7 months. sends me a off-the-wall invoice from the quote with a laundry list of BS attached with photos of unfinished parts that he posted on his website months prior claiming my guitar is ready to ship.

yah, i'll send you more money.

Re: Christopher Woods?

Yeah, that's pretty bad. So you're being asked to cough up some more cash before it ships? He has you listed as a "shipped" order at this point.

I noticed the current orders queue has been all re-arranged again. It reminds me of a kid who doesn't want to get to one part of what's on his dinner plate, so he just keeps shuffling things around during dinner so hopefully his parents won't notice he hasn't eaten his peas.

I was happy to have made it back onto the "Top Ten" after 4.5 years and not even having mine started yet, and now the Top Ten seems to be missing, with everything all subdivided by category again. So he'll probably go back to doing 2-month old neck orders while ignoring someone who paid in full 5 years ago.

What I don't get is on the MobileMe link. With the pictures of stuff in progress. I remember when he and I were fine-tuning the Passion And Warfare design so that it would work with a monkey grip, and a lion's claw, and without a middle single coil... and once we finally got the graphic fine-tuned to what it is today, I sent him a Prestige series and a full deposit and said, build a graphic Jem body for this and send it back. So now I'm seeing a guitar underway with a Passion/Warfare design with a new Woods neck. So apparently that one isn't for me, because I supplied an Ibanez prestige Wizard neck. So I guess apparently other people are calling in and saying "I'd like you to do one for me, based on a design for some other project that's been sitting unstarted for 5 years," and he says OK, I'll get right on it.

Just sad as hell.
I wish he would please just put all the jobs in order by deposit date and just DO THEM. Quit monkeying around with the queue, it's not fooling anyone into not noticing that nothing is getting done.

Re: Christopher Woods?

Would I be correct in presuming he's still way behind schedule? Thinking of getting a new neck for one of my guitars. I must confess I haven't kept up on who produces custom parts in a reasonable timeframe.

You can do the neck, just avoid painting. that's the main trouble maker

Up to today:

Jaden Rose 2 weeks (neck, no paint)
Et Guitars 5 month (body painted and not clearcoated)
Christopher Woods 6 month (the neck was ready at 8th may without painting)

With clearcoat:

Jaden rose - cant tell
Et Guitars - 12 month job delivered
Christopher Woods - 15 month still waiting (but neck is packed ready for pick)

Adding My local liuther (he's a really good one):

2 clearcoatings
1 re-fretting
1 putting togheter a guitar

3 month, still no news

Up to today i can tell that:

- Jaden is perfect with communications, work, package
- Ernie fixed his problems and he's a true CLEVER one. My personal best
- Chris is very ambitious and i had no problems with him. i think he will be ready and fully operative in almost one year, with a huge offer and good timetable.

Still, i wait my local liuther to tell me if the parts are good or not, becouse i dont have any building skill. i will do a comparative post for you all when all will be set

Re: Christopher Woods?

I'll have to decide who to use once I get my swirl body back. I thought about ET and their site does say they're back on a normal order schedule but I'll have to re-read through their thread. Does Jaden do necks only? I will have to ask.
