Ok, I don't know if any of you guys from the UK have noticed these guys on e-bay? Basically they're a dealer for the North-West based in Liverpool. You'll know who they are because they've got about 10-12 early Ibanez guitars listed (all with a mark-up of about £200 more than what you should actually pay, but let's ignore that for a second.)
Just a word to the wise really. I bought 2 of these cheap Fender copies that they rave about. I phoned the shop up and asked him point blank how they would compare to the same models from different countries (for example, how would they stack up against a
Mexican Strat or Japanese Strat.) The guy on the other end of the phone really bigged them up saying that they were leagues ahead of a Squier, but just under a Mexican and that they were a pick-up upgrade away from being better and a decent pro-level guitar.
What a load of horsesh*t!
These things show up and for one they're the wrong damn colour to what I ordered. Secondly these guitars aren't even half as good as the cheapest crappiest Affinity Squier that has ever been released and I truly mean that. I'd take 1 of those instead of 10 of the ones Curly Music were offering. Thirdly, the
truss rods didn't work in either guitar!
So obviously I rang up and got the run around for a refund despite them telling me there would be no worries or hassle with me returning them if I didn't like them. It was "*such and such* isn't here today so we can't do any refunds" or "*so and so* is on lunch so I can't do anything, but we'll ring you back." Suprise suprise they never rang back and I had to chase them every step of the way. Eventually I got a refund so long as I sent the guitars back on my own dime. Fair enough I guess, but considering the products were faulty it left a bad taste in my mouth to have to pay postage on 2 guitars that weren't even the right colour.
Long story short, if you decide you want one of these guitars, tread with caution. At the very least I would go to the shop itself to inspect it in the flesh. They will lie to you, so be prepared.
