DNA for $10,000, What is going on?

I seen this auction earlier, the seller has the name of Meestursparkle who looks like a good man, but what the f*ck is he doing with the auction for the DNA?? A few of you must of seen it.

Yeah, like you're gonna spend £5k on a guitar you've not even seen..........
There might be a perfectly good reason why theres no photies......... but to everyone else, wait until you have and then list it????

So Rich's post in my DNA copy thread, about them being worth £4k was a little errr.... conservative......... according to this dreamer........

it's rediculous... but i must say i've heard great things about that seller and he usually has millions of kiiller awesome pics of the guitars he's selling..

What's great to hear about him, that he actually ships the guitar he took plenty of pics of? It's not like he does anything else. There's certainly no detailed condition report, it's nothing but vague and he expects you to inspect the pictures close enough to see and find every blem. On the new guitars are the same you could buy from any Jp dealer that exports, for several hundreds more.

Is it worth 10k? It better be the best F'n DNA you ever saw. But more than likely he's doing his typical routine of turning any buyer into his own worse enemy, preying on emotions, and stupidity. He once put up a JCS for $2750 [talk about rediculous] then reduced the price every other day, after a couple attempts it was finally down to $1750 where I believe it sold. Some would say it's a smart sales tactic, I say it's the way a skunk would sell.

Yea, sold on Yahoo Japan 3 months ago for 710,000Y, I underbid it. Damn, if I knew it was worth $11,000 I should have kept bidding!

According to an Jap exchange program i googled - thats £3k Rich - $6k

I would say thats a reasonable price for a DNA..........?

But 10 or 11k is crazy - but like anything - its only worth what someones willing to pay........

+1. At the end of the day the consumers will decide upon the price. Sellers can dictate any price they want. Even if the DNA goes at a price of US$50 but if the buyers are not willing to pay that much, then it is worth much lesser than that.

He's got pics of it up now. But he's on some serious crack if he thinks someone is going to pay $11k for that.....and pay an additional $80 for shipping. LOL. Would be a nice vacation though.

He has a "make offer" option on the page. Offer 6k and he might take it.

I'm with you Cid, the whiteish spot on the contour ruins it for me too - other wise I really like the swirl.

I don't know what a lot of guitars are worth especially the rare ones so I start high. I am not going to undercut myself for lack of knowledge. Sorry if that offends some of you.
Don't like the price? That is what the offer button is there for.
Also some of you may not know this but there are import taxes of up to 20% or more to many countries. If a seller wants full insurance there is no way around this! So if you go by the 8k figure 20% is 9.6k plus I am offering the added bonus of NOT having to buy sight unseen, assuming you take the 11k BIN.
As to the "skunk" comment (wtf):when a price starts high and comes down it is called a "DUTCH" auction. Are Dutch people skunks!!

Really though I doubt this particular guitar was on yahoo auctions 3 months ago. But if it was great!! Guitars like this are much cheaper in Japan because they are made here!!! That has been an age old way of making money. You go to the source for a product and get it to people that can't get it otherwise!!
I could go on and on but I won't.
