DNA Rush!
How about the DNA Rush at Ibanezrules.com, sure would like to bring a couple of those over here, yickes! Who needs gold when there are DNA's to be found.
Those guitars are just unreal, Majestic swirls with a Mystic twist.

Re: DNA Rush!
LOL, DNA Title, oh yes, it will be mine, oh yes, mine all mine....NOT! Closest I get is a DNA Glow Pickguard and getting Dizzy looking at IbanezRules.com. yet that's pretty fun for now.

#22, holy! #29, What in the! Makes the mind unwind into a spin, I remember the 2000 Namm release of DNA's was that ever an exciting event in history.
Those 10 poping up is real cool reflection of swirling greatness and DNA pick-off memories!

Re: DNA Rush!
Just got mine a few weeks ago : #56. WOW ! Amazing swirl, amazing neck, amazing tone, and of coure, thanks Rich, amazing setup ! The day I got it certainly was the most amazing day of my life !
And, yes, unlike others, this is now my main player, as I don't see the point of owning such a cool guitar and not playing it, and I will most definitaly not sell it ever ! Couldn't see myself buying a Porsche and not driving it, and as I am no Collector, she is getting heavy playtime evry day now ! Everytime I lay my hands on this wonderful neck and see this badass swirl, well, I never ever want to put it down ! Just being overly careful not to ding or scratch it too much, but as it is now my main player, well if it happens, no big deal !
Woring a bit about the Powder Cosmo wearing though, I do wipe it off after each play session. As for the swirl, I emailed Darren and Rich, and bottomline is it shouldn't fade (hopefully) when not used outdoors in sunlight contact.
The only slight imperfection on the DNA's are that about two to three of the
abalone inlays
are very dark ... well, I guess Ibanez could have fixed that for guitars in that price-range, but I am just bitchin'.
Easily the best guitar I ever owned (FP, UV777BK,
Les Pauls
...).
Bottomline : if you have the cash don't hesitate, and again, if you have the cash and want one, don't moan and complain about it being overpriced it is an exceptional guitar and certainly makes am amazing player ! ANd yes, someday it will get increasingly difficult to get one in good condition !
Back to playing it !!!
Cheers all,
Stephan

Re: DNA Rush!
Congratulations Stephan!! So nice to hear you are playing this wonderful guitar.
I too am the 'lucky'(= lots of hard work) owner of a DNA and
Crystal Planet
and both are played every week. These 'collectors' guitars deserve to be played not stuck away in a guitar case!
Unless they are bought purely for investment purposes I can't fathom out the reasoning behind keeping them locked away and occasionally bringing them out for a quick look.
As long as you try and take care of them then keep on playing!
Good luck Stephan - the DNA really is a fantastic guitar both visually and tonally.

Re: DNA Rush!
DNA's are killer to play and be inspired by, I think it would be awesome to have one to keep minty/untouched and pull it out once in a while like a classic car that is only for special moments in time.
DNA and Crystal planet, now that is an unreal pair to have, rite on!

Re: DNA Rush!
I'll second the views on DNAs as an instrument to be played - one of the nicest necks I've ever played on - love her to death!
Cheers

Re: DNA Rush!
I hear the value of them has about dropped to almost nothing, and poor Rich is stuck holding the bag on these worthless guitars. Pity

Re: DNA Rush!
worthless?
DNA's are far one of the greatest guitars made that is know to man kind, as far as value, that is subject to opinion, overall value on the used market, It's only been 5 years since they were brand new, give it 5 more than see them sky rocket!
I think many try to base value from **ay, and that place is a joke, the most out of control market destroyer. 1/2 the time when we see a guitar sell for a price, the high bidder never paid for it. DNA's still make waves to those who have wisdom.
