Does this sort of rubbish happen alot on ebay???

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....&category=2384

a couple of key things from the description:
"IBANEZ RG SERIES 450BK GUITAR IN BLACK MADE IN JAPAN IN 1999"

"This is a 450 with a solid Alder body"

"all Japanese made hardware:Tuners, tremolo, PU's. The 2 Humbuckers are IBZ INF 1&2 and the single coil in middle is a IBZ INF S..."

"The tremolo is a Floyd Rose LO TRS II..."

"These RG's use to retail for around $1400 plus the case..."

wtf? This guy must be on crack....
And hey, 21 bids on this thing....I really hope those bidders have done their research cause there are so many things wrong with his description.

wil..

Yeh, I see that all the time....ALOT of guitars descriptions are falsely advertised. Either the owner doesn't know what he has, or just trying to make it sound like a better deal. More than likely, the latter...........

Its an epidemic. I've had this idea for a long time, although I know they'd never do it. It could easily get out of hand and it would have to be moderated for content. Have a link button on the auction page, where the "ask seller a question, see other auctions" etc. are. The link is called "see comments." You then go to a screen not unlike the feedback section, but where you could make one or two line comments about the auction. Ebay would be more self-policing that way. You could say, "Scam seller from indonesia-doesn't even own guitar, stole pics from website" or you could say "neither guitar nor hardware are japanese." or "seller says mint condition, but I can see headstock cracks by the lock nut bolts" But you could also say "I own one of these, and I love it" or "very reasonable Buy It Now price-I've seen them go for much more." You'd have to be registered, and they could even limit it to people with a certain amount of positive feedback, or a certain ratio of positive to negative, and exclude new members. Then the seller could also answer back. It would replace a lot of the back and forth e-mailing, too if you could just ask your questions publicly.

He's quoting Australian dollars, remember.
Converting it from Aus to British Pound = £584 - which is a little more than normal. Probably about £450 new.
So he isnt far off
