ebay auction question

I just recently sold a boss delay pedal on ebay for around $100. In my description, I said that I only shipped to the US, and the winning bidder happened to live in the netherlands. I contacted them and told them that I only shipped to the US. He said that was fine and gave me a US shipping address saying that it would be shipped to a fellow company employee who was going to the netherlands around the middle of july and would just deliver it to him. I remember talk about some other people selling guitars and other equipment on ebay to people out of the country and once they shipped it, the money that was paid to them was charged back because the card was stolen or something. Has anyone run into this? I've not heard of the netherlands as one of the countries that this has happened with and since I'm shipping it to the US, does that make a difference? I just don't want to lose $100 here. Thanks.

Well, I think you can not be obliged to sell to the winning bidder since your auction stated that you do not sell overseas - so, if you really feel uncomfortable, just tell the guy so and contact the second highest bidder .

i don't see the problem here, assuming common sense and verification is used. alot of overseas buyers have items shipped to friends/coworkers in the USA.... glen

Not like these cons usually go after chump change items and $100 would qualify, but if it's not shipped to the billing address of the cardholder he surely can claim a chargeback and you'd have to prove you sent it to him, which you can't. Have him Western Union you the cash, simple, done.
