eBay cons are completely out of control ;/

Lately I'm getting so many of these it's just pathetic, all of them are just too good a deal, but they all have one thing in common, somehow they come as if I'm the seller of an item and I'm being asked a question [the email notice from ebay is just that]. If anybody knows how they're getting through the system I'd sure be interested, but here are some examples.

[I told this guy to send it to me and I'd express him a money order after I'd recieved it. Of course he balked, but, he'd do it if I sent him $600!! Putz!]

They all have one thing in common, 0 feedback, newly registered, and they all come as if a question for the seller of said auction, which of course I'm not, very curious how they're doing it. I've gotten lots of these over the years but these are from 1 week so it's worth noting their attempts are increasing in frequency. Watch you asses!

Geez! What list are you on!? And how can you get off it?
Although in my recent PGM auction, I got a bunch of emails from new users with 0 feedbacks asking me to ship to "friends" in Indonesia and the like.

But your case is totally whacked out.

This is just from bidding on stuff [usually to throw it on my watch page and keep room in my items watched section] and I'm really not bidding on THAT much stuff. This is why I figured a few of you guys would be recieving the same cons and hopefully wouldn't be gullible enough to get took! ;/

I've received a couple of those...I noticed on one that the guy actually created yahoo email account (magisterrex1995@yahoo.com) to resemble an actual seller's account (magisterrex)...the email was copied to look like ebay content. Not only did they try to deceive me, they are leaching off someone else's reputation. This crud really keeps you on your toes.

The ironic thing is that whoever is doing this, obviously has no mastery of the English Language, even though they're trying to come across like they do....yet...the grammar and spelling don't look that much different than some that I've seen from US citizens....even some Jemsiters who shall remain nameless.

If you check their "registry" you'll see they're Canada, the UK, and France, but these aren't just imitations of ebay emails, that's what's bothering me.

I've gotten similar offers for laptops and other stuff. When the first email arrived, I quickly went to "My Ebay" to see if my account had been hacked into and holding bogus auctions. Made me wonder too, about how they got that going...

Rich,
If you try to get a e-mail correspondence going, so that you have an email comming from one of the Yahoo addresses, could you forward it to me with complete headers?
I've pinpointed the location of the dope that faked the 777LNG prototype twice, and I'm curious (but willing to bet a bit) that this is the same jerk.

This means they use the webform to contact you. Mail will be sent from the Ebay servers. Yahoo is descent enough to show the Ip of the client that access Yahoo webmail (see above), Ebay unfortunally isn't. Only way to get 'm is to get email correspondence going and then check for headers, but they'll resolv to Romania anyway.

I get about 2-3 a week for various things:
guitars
amps
coffee mug warmers
etc.

Since it is so few, I just delete the email.

If they were just contacting me through the webform I'd get a -

Question from eBay Member

not a -

Question for seller -- Item #2367543723

and have me listed as the seller, when of course I'm not.

You can tell some of those blokes are foreign. Whether it be Romanian, Indonesian or Kosovan or whatever....
The language is just so poor, you can tell they cant speak proper english. I must admit, Ebay is getting worse and worse. Luckily for us in the UK it isnt as bad. Surely something can be done.

Matter of fact, those guys from the 777lng had perfect language skills.
We had a nice chat on Yahoo. (after the doofus e-mail bombed me & mm of vai.com)

Rich;
I'm gonna check that one out a bit further. Pleasecould you email me your Ebay username? I think I might now how they pull it off, but I want to make sure.

And does anyone here have a current auction online, which I can abuse for testing purposes? The worst thing that could happen is that you get a e-mail as above in your inbox. Thanks.
