EGEN Pickups - Available but would you buy them ?
So, I can get EGEN pickup sets but they are expensive, they do not come in a flashy jewel case with presentation card because... well they are not a production pickup..
so, anyone interested in a set?
as a guide expect to pay... a lot.

Re: EGEN Pickups - Available but would you buy them ?
ah, sorry I should have said that they are the standard fitment to that EGEN -
Herman Li
signature S series guitar.
the pickup set is described as a custom (whic it is) set from
dimarzio
- the HLM set..
and like it say, is fitted to this guitar

I'd be interested to know what they're like. If they're just a slightly modified EVO set, then probably not. If they're REALLY realyl good? then yes.

Re: EGEN Pickups - Available but would you buy them ?
Herman Li said that the neck pickup has been designed to sound like a neck pickup of a 22 fret guitar, even though it's not in the same place as it would be on one. They are also fine tuned for thin, mahogony guitars, he said.
It's all I know about them, though. Apart from the short descriptions on Ibanez's site.

He said that in this video. Check it out:

Re: EGEN Pickups - Available but would you buy them ?
Personally I'd say no, not really interested until there's more "standard DiMarzio info" on them like the tone graph and output, so on paper at least, I can make comparisons to their other pickups.

well he used evolutions and so i think it is safe to assume that they are a variant of the evolution set.
