Re: ET Guitars - New Vendor OFFICIAL THREAD

Sorry for the double post, but I've been sent pictures. I was a little worried that the green vine wouldn't contrast well with the maple fretboard, but the final result is just gorgeous.

Anyone ever order a quilted maple top/stained body from Ernie?? Got any pics?

I hope he responds to me soon! I am eager to start a project which a previous builder backed out on =[

Re: ET Guitars - New Vendor OFFICIAL THREAD

Nic, I have seen some of Ernie's work up close and it is very impressive. He has great attention to detail and a great person to deal with. I currently have two things he is working on for me, and am very confident in the way they are going to turn out. I too am on CW's hitlist 3 and have been nothing but impressed with the way Ernie has looked after me.

Re: ET Guitars - New Vendor OFFICIAL THREAD

Yah I think I have an order with Ernie, im gonna put the downpayment this week, Ernie if you are reading this, sorry I found an amp that I just had to pick up for the price, so im waiting afew more days before I sent money over.

He does seem busier lately though, which kinda scares me he'll turn out like someone else, but Ill take the dive anyways.

Re: ET Guitars - New Vendor OFFICIAL THREAD

My neck arrived a few days ago, and it has far exceeded my expectations. I'll write up a review once I get my guitar set up.

Re: ET Guitars - New Vendor OFFICIAL THREAD

Alright you guys convinced me, I just send a $200 deposit to Ernie for an idea I had, to be put on his waiting list.

Im hoping he can make me the guitar of my dreams, that many other luthiers couldnt. I'll stay updated. Lets hope it fairs better than with Chris Woods.

Re: ET Guitars - New Vendor OFFICIAL THREAD

Giving an update. So far communication with Ernie has been great, and he is even working with me on my designs, and suggesting things to make it better. That is something luthiers usually dont want any part of. So A+ so far. Hope it continues.

Re: ET Guitars - New Vendor OFFICIAL THREAD

Wow, the Tobacco Road looks stunning!

Is it possible to get a 22 fret jem style guitar? If so, would the neck pickup move further from the bridge?

A jem style with 22 frets, chunky vintage C shaped neck, vine inlays, swirl finish and reverse headstock is my dream! (A flame maple neck with rosewood fingerboard would be outrageous.)

Re: ET Guitars - New Vendor OFFICIAL THREAD

I've been sending emails to and fro for a little while. I did have to follow one up for a response but other than that he's replied to all of them (including my little chase) within a day or 2.

He's very quick on emails, and on the one i had to chase I just quoted it and asked if he'd managed to get around to answering yet. He sent me an email back a few hours later with all the info i'd asked for, and kindly did the math for me on some options i asked about.

I should say, he's definitely keeping on top of them by the way, since I recieved an email from him a few hours ago.
