Re: ET Guitars - New Vendor OFFICIAL THREAD
Hi all
Iv had ET Guitars re-do my DY RG550 neck with a new fingerboard. Here are the pics he sent me.
P.s. you cant go wrong with these guys, they respond to all emails, are very understanding, and of course the work looks fantastic.

Nice fingerboard. Are the inlays really bright? The yellow and green look it from the pics but photos can almost never capture the true brightness. I might get a PMC fingerboard done in the future. Looks great man.

Re: ET Guitars - New Vendor OFFICIAL THREAD
The neon inlays are basically the same material as used by Ibanez. They are bright, but its under blacklight where they really go off. The yellow really burns, and the pink has a nice orange/red tinge to it under UV.

Re: ET Guitars - New Vendor OFFICIAL THREAD
Its pretty standard to expect to wait awhile for good custom work, esp if they are booked forever like Ernie. But its worth it in the end.
Just think how like, Jackson or ESP and those kinda custom shops, waits sometimes get into the 2-3 year range.
Its good that ET usually tells you upfront a time quote and so far from my hearings, Hes been pretty honest on meeting it, with rarely a few random "delays". So if he said one year, expect it in a year.

Re: ET Guitars - New Vendor OFFICIAL THREAD
Thanks Nick. But to be fair to Gerald (cosmitron), it is later than what we originally said, I really wanted to get it finished some months ago. There were some unfortuate delays, but we spoke throughout the whole time, and we're both satisfied, I think.
Gerald, the next one will not take so long, and will be a real eye-opener for the jemsiters, something long overdue and unlikely Ibanez will ever re-release :-)

Re: ET Guitars - New Vendor OFFICIAL THREAD
NickCormier, Ernie,
I'm not complaining! I'm just working my a** out to learn waiting. It's a tough behaviour for a GASer. But at every step I'm learning and you can't imagine what it makes me feel to see my dream's coming more real month after month. It's worth waiting, to say the least.
Ernie you're the more "real human" guitar builder I've got the chance to communicate with.
It's cool to feel that on both sides, fun and commitment are the rules.
And hell, I'm already starving for the next one

Re: ET Guitars - New Vendor OFFICIAL THREAD
Yah Ernie, I hear ya. Did the CNC get fixed yet?
I can't wait to get my project started.. Im hoping to send a final spec email before xmas sometime, and then whenever you can get started, im in no rush. Just wondering what bridge I should use now, ZR, Lopro or OFR hmmm.
I'll send an email out soon. Looking forward to it though.

Re: ET Guitars - New Vendor OFFICIAL THREAD
Gerald, well its been even more fun for me to turn your clever CGI pictures into a real guitar :-) First the faux-vintage, and next the retro-futuristic... I'm really looking forward to that one!
Nick, yes the CNC is healthy again, and we're deep in catchup mode still. Send me your spec at your leisure mate.

Re: ET Guitars - New Vendor OFFICIAL THREAD
Ernie let's keep that secret for now!
We'll follow the Ibanez Namm speculation example.
(er.. even though chances are less people are wondering what guitar you'll make for me real soon
)

Re: ET Guitars - New Vendor OFFICIAL THREAD
Et's work looks great. Seeing a clean DY fretboard brings me back to 1988.
