For all you Jemsiters who use the bay!
For all of you guys who use the bay, do not buy anything from a user named "focusavprogear". I ordered a footswitch from this prick on the 17th of August, and it's been nothing but a headache since.
The footswitch cost $13 with Buy It Now, and shipping wasn't listed, but I figured shipping a footswitch couldn't cost
that
much, could it?
Well, I was wrong. I get an invoice from the seller about 10 minutes later, for a whopping $24.95! Yeah, that's not a typo. They charged me $11 to ship a footswitch!
But, I figured that if I was to get my switch within the next day or two, that I'd be willing to suck it up, and just let that slide.
Well, here I am, almost 2 weeks later, and the seller has not only
not
shipped my footswitch, but they've decided to ignore me, as well. I've sent numerous emails, and haven't recieved any kind of response at all.
Just save yourselves the headaches, and avoid this pain in the ass of a seller, guys. Just warning y'all ahead of time.
Although I will say that I do feel fortunate that I haven't been ripped off like some of you guys, but it's still incredibly irritating when you have to deal with some deadbeat who lives hundreds or thousands of miles away.

Re: For all you Jemsiters who use the bay!
Thanks, you guys!
But really, I'm only out $25 at the moment. Some people on here are out hundreds, or maybe even thousands of dollars, so I could be much worse off.
Anyways, thanks again.

Re: For all you Jemsiters who use the bay!
Don't get me started on getting really get ripped off, haha. I just bought some back covers for an RG760 I'm going to have redone, and the guy I bought them from didn't put a shipping price on the transaction. I figured 3 plastic small pieces would cost around $1.60, so I typed in the amount I thought was fair. THe guy immediately sends me back and email demanding that I pay an additional $3.50 to have the covers sent. They came in brand new condition, but the outside packaging said that it cost $1.64 for first class to Ohio. I was off by .04 cents! There are a lot of people over there that jack up the price of shipping to get some untouchable income. That practice is extremely annoying, and I will not bid on any inflated shipping cost. I accidently bid on some
neck screws
without seeing the shipping costs about two weeks ago, and the guy wanted $10 to ship??????????? I sent him a response and beotched at him for ripping off his next victim. Luckly, I didn't win the item.

Re: For all you Jemsiters who use the bay!
I just won an auction for a footswitch as well, actually a loop master ab box, some small 3 inch box that literally weighs next to nothing, so the guy sends me an invoice for the 40$ plus 6$ for INTERNATIONAL shipping, as he calculated it himself.
then 3 days later after I paid the few minutes after I got the invoice I get this ranting and raving email about how "YOU MUST PAY AN ADDITIONAL 10.40$ FOR SHIPPING, THIS ITEM WAS NOT LISTED FOR INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING, YOU MUST PAY OR I'LL RELIST AND GIVE A NEGATIVE"
so I'm thinking to myself, the email I sent prior to the bid asking if it was cool to ship to canada, and thus the following responce about how it was cool, as long as I paid the 6$ was a total worthless email, so I basically said, keep the godamn thing and I'll order a new one and pay 5$ more, which I should have done in the first place!
so the guy then demands again the extra money, and I just said, either way I either get the footswitch or get my money back, Visa loves doing chargebacks buddy!
so now magically the footsitch is shipped for the 6.00$
who wants to wager that I'll get it and the shipping was 1.64 too hahahah
jesus this **** is reatarded!
I hate sellers on **** haha

I'm about ready to be done with online auctions altogehter because of over-inflated S&H costs everyone seems to be doing these days. Tell that chump to stick that item, you know where and buy from someone else.

I don't have much choice being in a small town, even if I can find what I want here things are usually way cheaper on e*bay even with the P&H.

Re: For all you Jemsiters who use the bay!
Yea, I won't buy something that's high on shipping charges, or I'll factor that into my bid and won't bid over a certain amount to keep the total cost where I want. When I sell something I put in enough to cover the cost of shipping and the packaging expenses, and that's fair to do it that way. But $10 to ship 4 screws in a postage card sized bubble-wrapped envelope is phucking retarded.
I forget what one person was selling, but they had the shipping charge jacked waaaaay up there coming out of Canada to the US. It was something small too. So I wrote the guy and said, "blah-blah-blah for shipping???? Are you serious????? Kinda high, don't you think?" So he writes me back and says, "Really? Ok, I'll drop it some." He dropped it a few dollars that seemed like it would cover shipping, packaging, but there was still some extra that he'd pocket. I never did bid on it though.
I think some people get wrapped up into "winning" the auction that they forget that the cost is more than just the winning bid and maybe they even fool themselves into thinking that they're getting a better deal this way than getting it somewhere else.
Me, I'll check the net first to see what the street price is with shipping and then I'll try to get it on the bay. Otherwise I go back to the net and get it there.
I use
www.pricegrabber.com
quite a bit.

Re: For all you Jemsiters who use the bay!
I don't see what the problem is.Nobody is forcing you to buy the item.If you use paypal the seller always has to pay the fees,so if they make a few quid on shipping so what?
I've sold a few things on the bay, sometimes I make a couple of pounds on the postage others I don't.I sent a
guitar body
from the UK to Germany today,I quoted him £10,it ended up being £18,so I lost abit,it swings both ways

Re: For all you Jemsiters who use the bay!
I've lost money on shipping too, but the whole issue is these guys that sell an item for what it costs everywhere and then charge $14 to ship it, that is BS.
I bought an 8 GB Verbatim jump drive for under $60.00 and the guy was located the next town over. I asked if i could just swing by and get it. He said "no"!
I was floored. So I had to pay his BS 11.95 shipping charge and waited 4 days for it to show up. The only reason I'm not more upset is if you price an 8GB Jump drive from Verbatim, you'll see $67 shipped is still a deal.

Re: For all you Jemsiters who use the bay!
On the question of giving bad feedback it's more to do with the fact that I've seen buyers with negative feedback like
"- Left negative feedback"
So I'd rather just leave positive than get negative back.
