FRANK FALBO: (extreme delays expected during transactions)

I recently "purchased" some catalogs from Frank Falbo (frankfalbo on Jemsite). On 10/17, when I asked him about these items, he said that if I paind that morning, he had some other items to mail so he'd get them out that day. I paid him via PayPal right away. From him to me is 4-5 days by UPS, and 5-6 days by USPS. After more then a week and I hadn't seen the catalogs, I emailed Frank and asked about them. He never emailed me back. A few days later, I emailed him again and said that he needed to let me know what was going on with the catalogs, or I would be forced to file a claim with PayPal. He replied on 10/31 by saying:
"Sorry Josh, cats are on the way. I had a hard time coming up with a way to box them this time, but then that gave way to more procrastination. Neither of which is acceptable, but I sincerely appologize.
Frank"

I still haven't received anything from Frank, and now he won't respond to my emails, phone messages or Jemsite PMs, and has ignored my attempts to communicate through PayPal.

I know that not even a month has passed, but I expect more then being lied to and then ignored when dealing with people, especially people I've dealt with before. Maybe I expect too much, I send my sold items the day after I receive payment.

I just wanted to inform the Jemsite community to proceed with caution when dealing with Frank. I don't want anyone else to have to deal with this type of headache.

Re: FRANK FALBO: Deal with Extreme Caution

I have no clue what's up in this particular case, but...

If there is any member of the Jemsite community who I would have absolutely no qualms in dealing with for ANY transaction (regardless of price), it would be Frank. We have done deals in the past, and it couldn't have gone any better. He has been a very valuable contributor to the development and knowledge base of this forum and is extremely well respected here. Whatever the problem may be, I expect he'll fix it.

Re: FRANK FALBO: Deal with Extreme Caution

You know I hate to bring this up again because I've tried very hard to forget about this time in my life, I've also -somewhat- come to peace with Frank at one point over a few months ago. BUT....

If anyone remembers my situation where because of a bad deal with Frank, he got away with my AX7-521 and I got stiffed with nothing.

acoustic1991 is not the only one who has had a problem before...

Yeah, and two months ago, I would have said the same thing. BUT, now he apparently is screwing me out of $200.

Re: FRANK FALBO: Deal with Extreme Caution

well I will say this.. Frank is very slow and lacks alot in the communication department..

I have done several deals with him, and although I felt lost or forgotten, due to lack of emails, wont return calls etc, etc..

HE HAS ALWAYS CAME THRU IN THE END..

Frank is a good guy I have done 3 deals with him.. And each one I was always waiting.. But when the stuff came it was better than he described.

Hes a busy man I guess, but thats no excuse for not communicating..

My 2 cents

Re: FRANK FALBO: Deal with Extreme Caution

Exactly. I don't have a problem waiting, but take a moment to send an email to tell me why and how long I'll be waiting. But don't just ignore people. And don't promise something if you're not going to deliver on it.

I've got a deal going on with him currently and this thread just spook me off, I haven't received my item yet but I'll keep my finger cross, the thing is that he lacks communication

Yeah, and that is the most important thing in dealing with people you don't know.

Re: FRANK FALBO: Deal with Extreme Caution

Dang...... I was considering having him re-fret and do some small inlay work. I guess I'll wait longer just to see the outcome here. I hope everything works out for you guys.

I don't see the need to totally bad mouth someone in public until you know the deal has totally gone south. A few weeks is nothing and things happen in life that can postpone shipping.

Re: FRANK FALBO: Deal with Extreme Caution

I also have dealt with Frank in the past. I bought a 7 string sustainer off of him. I'll admit that it did take some time to get the sustainer, but in the end it all worked out nicely.

There is no bad mouthing, only fact. And, I've had things come up, but I don't quit responding and let people know when they ask.
