I notice there seems to be a flood of RG 2550's from China listed lately...

Re: FRAUD/VERIFICATION MASTER TOPIC: verify a guitar, seller, fakes, etc.

Hey there! I was sittin' on the dock of the 'Bay and saw this Jem 777vbk (found at #270088035974) and had some questions about its authenticity. For starters, the headstock photo doesn't show the pretty little word "JEM" where it ought to be. Is this a switcharoo or is my computer monitor just not working? Also, the first photo looks, er, different from the other ones (background) and seems like maybe a real Jem to throw bidders off the mark... Thoughts?

Thought that first picture looked familiar- it's off Jemsite, and you can even see the JEM in the little picture right where it ought to be. Suspicion growing...

Is there a way to, um, alert bidders to this rather significant discrepancy (aka, fraud)?

Re: FRAUD/VERIFICATION MASTER TOPIC: verify a guitar, seller, fakes, etc.

As much as I would love to score a 77pmc for only $99 (heck, even the bin ain't too shabby), I'd like some input on:

170084521105, which has the exact same EVERYTHING as
170084521778

What's the deal on these? The pics are kinda cruddy, the colors look off, and it's possible that the seller accidentally listed the exact same sale twice...

Comments?

If you really comb over the 170084521105 description, it's actually just for the case even though it's worded deceptively. The whole $1600 for the guitar deal appears to only be through email (and therefore off-site), where I'm sure everything will be legitimate- yeah right!

Pure con, hacked account. That PMC has been "for sale" 753 times now.

"Oh, what a tangled web we weave" and all that jazz. Totally missed the whole guitar case thing- good catch.

I tried to click on one of the pics and it opened up an email link which I promptly closed- might use Norton to scan the hard drive anyway...

Guess I'll just have to settle for spending quiet time with my 77fp...

Thanks for confirming my suspicions-

This lovely guitar caught my eye but something smells fishy about the whole deal. Any thoughts?

It's a Jem 555, with gold Floyd licensed trem and switched out knobs.
