LOL! Yeah, I don't know how I missed that grip, that's just god awful It should also say "Jr." on the headstock. I wouldn't bid on that guitar with someone elses money. There's waaaay too many questions there.

Re: FRAUD/VERIFICATION MASTER TOPIC: verify a guitar, seller, fakes, etc.

Hi everyone, just joined up because i just bought a 555 (i know most of you probably consider real 555's fake jems anyway but let's put that aside for now) on that auction site. Then i just got paranoid about the fake possibility because nobody else bid on it (even though there was interest, there were 5 or so questions).

The item number is: 330149692553

Things that make me think i'm just being paranoid;
-The price isn't low or anything, a new 555 costs £665 at my usual guitar shop
-It isn't coming from china, in fact it's from here in the UK, about 50 miles from me
-He's said OK to local pickup
-The description seems legit
-He hasn't shyed away from close up photos showing some detail (for example DiMarzio engraved on the pickups, would a fake have this much detail?)

Anyway you guys are the experts, could you let me know (i haven't paid him yet)?

Thanks

Re: FRAUD/VERIFICATION MASTER TOPIC: verify a guitar, seller, fakes, etc.

This is horrendously fake, isn't it?

170135060847

I'm not well-versed in the legitimacy of the "Jem Jr." line, though as I understand it those guitars were Ibanez's attempt to offer a lower-cost alternative to non-U.S. customers.

In any case, this body shape looks all kinds of wrong, as does the battery (?) compartment on the back.

Re: FRAUD/VERIFICATION MASTER TOPIC: verify a guitar, seller, fakes, etc.

I'm sure the only bidder currently bidding will soon find out that it's fake. The bolt pattern for the neck is wrong. They didn't even get the truss rod cover screw pattern correct. The logo is jacked up as well.

Re: FRAUD/VERIFICATION MASTER TOPIC: verify a guitar, seller, fakes, etc.

Hey guys, i need something verified. There's an RG 560 on **** right now with an EMG 81 in the bridge, trem blocked, locking nut off, and tone knob unwired. Otherwise it is in pretty damn good shape. right now the price is 96 USD, and i was wondering if this is a good auction. Cuz posting **** links nabs a suspension apparently, just search it on ****, seeing as it's the only 560 for sale right now. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: the item number is 170135047751.

OKAY.
This floral stuff is for sale here in Brazil.
Please tell me it IS FAKE!!!
(some people here are telling me it's original)...
The seller says he painted the pickups, replaced the pink Ibanez logo for a new greenie' one, and so...
So i'll let you decide: fake or not???
Pics:

Auction link: http://produto.mercadolivre.com.br/M...0000-linda-_JM

Is it FAKE???
Thanx in advance, guys.
Tubarão.
