Fraudlent Ebay auction and nothing can be done....
Well I had someone email me a link to a German Ebay auction ( 2367563183 ) where the guy is selling a JS90 and is using my pictures and saying that they are from the actual guitar. I emailed Ebay and told them and this was their response:
Hello,
Thank you for your mail.
We are very sorry to hear that you've been having problems with another
eBay-member.
Please take note of the fact that every member bears responsibility for
their listings and its display format.
Regarding listing descriptions a member cannot assert copyright laws as
the listing description does is not intellectual property by German law.
Unfortunately by German law we are not allowed to give any legal advice.
Please try to clarify the situation with the other member yourself or
seek legal advice.
We hope we were able to help you. Should you have any further questions
though, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind regards,
eBay Community Watch
I hope no one gets screwed on this one......

Not speaking German myself, I copied the text of that auction into Babelfish to see exactly what the guy was claiming, and this is what I got:
Auctioneer a Ibanez JS900. The guitar is in a super condition and besides nearly again! Much does not have to say man to it, only this guitar also the best piece of the large master
Joe Satriani
is. There is also the suitable suit-case with blue material! Also naturally of Ibanez! Offer thus, much fun with...... Since this is a private auction, each adhesion is impossible in my case. Warranty gives it thus thus also none.....
I know it's no help (duh), but it's such a weird read I thought I'd share it. I've got your CD on now Rikk, sounds great

Ok, this is what the auction says in babbelfishless:
I'm auctioning a JS900
[sic].
The guitar is in great condition and nearly new. There is nothing more to be said, except for the fact that this is also the best guitar of the the great master Joe Satriani. There is also a matching blue-lined
(?)
case, also made by Ibanez. Have fun bidding. As this is a private auction, there is no responsibility on my part. There is also no guarantee included.
Cheers, I just got back from christmas eve and burning some time on jemsite translating auctions

It's hilarious to see that the retard at Ebay guessed that only copyrights are at stake and obviously thinks that all guitars are the same...Makes me think a chimp has the mental capacity to forfill that job the way he/she does it...It's like trying to sell your mother-in-law with a picture taken in her teens...

Contacting Ebay is a pain in ....
Every now and then I stumble upon auctions, where it is claimed that the stuff is limited and rare... and lots of keyword spamming.
No chance Ebay will do something about that.

I wrote the seller and buyer in German, to ask exactly which guitar was being offered, since it was unclear; 3 models are being named...
