Give me your opinion of the neck on this USA CUSTOM auction

Look at the scarf joint and the volute. Tell me if you think that's an original neck joint for a 1992 UCEW1QM. The seller swears it's legit. Read the comments and give me your opinion. I'll refrain from giving my opinion until you've had a chance to look for yourselves.

That neck is the best I've ever seen on an ibanez, I wouldn't care if it wasn't original. F'cking gorgeous.

That's bizarre. I've never seen an ultra neck with a volute like that. And look how much further toward the headstock that scarf joint is. Not a standard Ibanez cut, eh? Must have used a very different vendor/luthier for that run of necks. I was curious because of how rough the joint line was behind the nut screw holes was. Learn something new every day.

Yeah, I know they outsourced some of the necks and bodies for the California shop, but that just looks SO non-Ibanez.

It "looks" like from the photo, the way the wood is a lighter shade in the volute, that it has been shaved out. Could be just me though.........
I cant imagine that would add any strength or comfort to it though.

It actually made me think of refinishing the guitar, but then I remembered the matching headstock and voted against it, sadly.

If they did, they'd probably make the scarf joint look a little cleaner. I still think it's a little rough. The wood IS beautiful, though.

I just love that neck. It plays just the way I like it, not as thin as the Wizard (which I don't like too much) and not as thick as other necks (the flat fretboard contributes to that feeling too)
