Guitars in Vegas

Hi all,

I'm from the UK but I'm off to vegas at the end of july on a business trip for 3 days. I was planning onpicking up a couple of guitars seeing as they are pretty much half price over there. I've read nothing but bad things about ed roman, but was wondering if anyone could let me know of an alternative?

I was thinking of picking up a platinum gibson SG, and possibly something else

cheers

Go to Cowtown Guitars. Mark Chatfield has everything there.

Good call - Cowtown. Lots of stuff, especially vintage. Just down the road from Sam Ash, too.

I used to go to Cowtown all of the time when he started that shop here in Columbus. But then he decided to move to Vegas, and now we have no more vintage gear to drool over. It was a good move for him though. There's a lot more money in Vegas!! I bought my first Marshall cabinet from him. He's a straight forward guy. He used to play guitar for Bob Seger on a couple of tours. Believe me, he knows his gear.

Re: Guitars in Vegas

I have delt with Ed R, Sam A, and Cow T, Guitar C. I have never had issues, with any of them.

However the Guitar selection at Ed R is incredible.

Re: Guitars in Vegas

Cowtown is good for vintage stuff... I bought one of Paul Gilbert's guitars there a little over a year ago. I'm pretty sure they still have some that used to be owned by Paul still.

We also have a guitar center here, as well as Sam Ash. I avoid ER's place like the plague since he's a bloody tool. The guitar center has undergone some changes since I've been here, and to be honest I'm not too impressed with their selection and quality. I saw a VWH hanging on the wall that looked like it had been in a mud storm. Filthy as can be, and full price. Don't get me wrong... that's just one bad example. Overall it's a pretty nice place.

Sam Ash is much cleaner, and there selection isn't too shabby. The best part is that it's pretty much in the same plaza (area) as Cowtown. Inka Si Senor is right there too (really good Peruvian restaurant).

If you need directions or whatever... let me know.

Jake
