Any Jem prototypes are approved by the man himself, so I'm afraid your information is erroneous. It may behoove you to re describe the Frankenstein you're selling and put up a more accurate description.

Thanks,

Re: Has Anyone Seen the 'Rare Jem Prototype' on the bay?

Again just to confirm, but in the early 90s it was common practice for JEM necks to be available as spare parts from Ibanez dealers in the UK and for them to end up on RG bodies.

There's one such great Ibanez dealer near the seller's location

You might want to look at the headstock, and then remembering that, read the sellers reply again -

The guitar came from Ibanez Japan as a one off.
It was never intened so be a commercially available guitar, my guess is it was put together as a prototype and sent out to see what dealers / people thought of it.
Alot of companies do this to test out new product.
Its a great guitar with a unique look Ive never seen a black headstock Jem before!!
