Help with a e-bay problem please
Hi, a plea to all you bay experts!!!
I sold an item on e bay for £47 on 4th Jan and posted 1st class Royal Mail the same day, and have proof of posting. The buyer claims it hasn't turned up yet.
I know the Royal Mail say to have to wait 15 days before declaring something lost. But my question is assuming it doesn't turn up who is responsible?
Is the buyer automatically due a refund via Paypal, leaving me to claim £34 compensation from the Royal Mail or does it go in favour?

Tracking must show delivery. If it doesn't show it's been delievered he can file claim with Paypal and get his money back leaving you to file the claim with RM.

I thought so. Its just a pain in the ass and there's no way of knowing if the buyer is lying

You should require a signature for deliveries. Then you know.

My rule is if you don't pay for registered or insured postage, then you do so at your own risk.... If you sent it registered, you should be able to track it....
