I quit my day job !

well, ive been pretty busy for some time now making guitars and working 2 jobs, ive been getting home from my day job and starting out working on guitar straight away before settling in front of the PC for the rest of the evening preparing quotes and doing a bit of CAD etc etc and then more often that not, go to bed and remember that ive not eaten anything

needless to say its been quite difficult to maintain that kind of pace and something has had to give, my choices were.
1. stop making guitars for anyone but myself and keep it as a hobby only
2. quit my day job and put all my efforts into trying to make some fookin cool custom guitars to sell to folk like you.

I chose option 2
if I cant take a risk now after what my family has been through the last couple of years, I never will.

so, look out for a lot more activity in my official thread here and maybe now ill also have time to update my website.

this of course also means that many projects will be completed in a much more timely fashion including a really nice one that im doing for a member here at the moment - look out for pics, again on the official thread.

just thought I would share that with you all here.

Cool bro! Good for you! I just hope ya made the right decision. From what Ive seen so far............its pretty easy to get extremely overwhelmed. I think its awesome though that ya took a chance on doing something ya love and/or really want to do. I wish I was on tour or in a studio all day instead of being at work.....................but
But hopefully after 26 years............perhaps this current project will get me there.

Alwin, sure, I do one piece necks although always with a little reservation if im not 100% sure that the timber is top notch.
there is a good reason of course and if I do 1 piece then I use quarterwawn maple if possible.
I have made 2 flatsawn maple necks and they were fine but look how many wizard necks warped :O
