Re: Misrepresented & FAKE COPY JEM7s on e-bay or local stores - Made in China

Hi everyone

Man this is just one big misunderstanding.

I think there are counterfeits coming out of practically all countries not just Singapore and China.
Ant81 is saying that there are counterfiets coming out of Singpapore(i agree based on the link u have provided) while the Singapore camp is saying that these counterfiets are not made in Singapore(this i do not know for a fact so). They do not seem to deny the fact that fakes are being sold from their country. So as we can now clearly see these 2 totally different topics altogther.

Peace my fellow forummers

thanks for being here & reading all these.

some of us are just bothered by certain insistence when we know that it's not the case. there are others who really took things to heart & got carried away, which shouldn't be the case.

it's heartening to know that Jemsite acknowledges the possibility of defamatory & slanderous outcomes as it is a real liability in online discussions. seeing the moderators' involvements in mediating the occurrences, a legal entanglement isn't about to happen.

a princely reiteration indeed.

the situation, as i've further understood, boils down to the fact that online buyers are more willing to engage with sellers from singapore, citing untrustworthy engagements from other far eastern countries. there might be a case of making these fake wares available in singapore for the very sake of authenticating shipping documents.

+1 to your message of peace...

Secondly You might well be proud of your country but just because an accusation that a fake is made in your country should not be taken as a personal insult to you.
There are lots of criminals in every country in the world but that does not mean that everyone on here is a criminal.
Please take it to PM or email if you wish to discuss this further.

See, exactly what I was saying. People shouldn't need to take things to heart. I've seen no Chinese people in Jemsite take it to heart that there are Chinese listings of fakes.

Yes let's get back to 'offending' the country of other people, who seem to have a stronger self consitition at not taking it personal.

Tee hee sorry couldn't resist that one

I don't need to work on my humor at all, I'm not trying to make people laugh.

Don't tell me not to stir anything up, it's not your place to. Now you are stiring things.

If you are easily offended, then talking with other people is not for you.

It is however MY place to tell you to. Stop stirring things up.

That goes for any and all who feel like continuing hte disruptions to this thread. Its a worthy topic for discussion and it's be a shame to have to close the thread.

Thanks in advance guys,

Cheers,
Jono

I'm not stiring anything what so ever, I mentioned one auction, and a few who thought I was talking about thier whole country blew it out of proportion - stiring it up.

Re: Misrepresented & FAKE COPY JEM7s on e-bay or local stores - Made in China

I was in Guitar Center here in Houston a couple of weeks ago. I noticed, what I thought was a Jem. But something was wrong about it, there were to many inconsistencies with what I had seen in the past on Jems.

I asked a salesman what he could tell me about it. He proceded to give me his BS lines about how yes the guitar is actually an Ibanez but it is limited to a Chinese release and was not released in the States.

As I look closer I notice what a real piece of crap it is.
I told him it was a fake, but he didnt want to hear it and walked off.

What is rotten about this is that some kid will walk in thinking he is getting a Jem for $500.00 and this type of sales person would be more than happy to sell it.

I think with the influx of Chibanez's and now the Fake Les Pauls, alot of people are gonna get ripped off, and then point the finger at the guitar companies, claiming that the companies manufacture crappy gear.

I think that sending a photograph of that chibanez with the dealers name and address to Ibanez will suffice to stop that dealer from selling the jem fakes. Make a pic of it and show it here on Jemsite.

JP

In the U.S. of A. it is illegal to even possess counterfeit property. This is from the Ibanez USA web site:

"One final but very important note: Because of the damages and hardship that illegal merchandise cause at so many levels, counterfeiting in the United States is a serious crime. By Federal statutes, it's not only a felony to sell counterfeit merchandise, it's a felony even to own it."

If it is/was a counterfeit, you could have asked for the manager and if he/she tried to blow you off, you could do as Demogorgos says and notify Ibanez or really stir it up and call the police.
