Re: Misrepresented & FAKE COPY JEM7s on e-bay or local stores - Made in China
The stupid e-Bay system doesn't allow you to contact buyers now, which I can see the benefits of, but I wanted to warn the guy he'd bought a
fake
and tell him not to bother paying.
I also reported it twice, and I gave e-Bay plenty of time to pull the auction, but they are bloody useless.
I hate to see people (especially musicians) get ripped off!

This is a real 7VWH.
The seller is an idiot* and the jem is modified quite a bit (weird gold top trem posts, worn cosmo Edge, crude back plate covering the input jack and the new sustainer electronics, sustainer itself, new pickups, etc) plus it has decent amount of wear and tear on it but it's a real VWH.
*I'm not sure how he managed to upload a distorted (stretched) pic of the headstock and why he didn't bother to do a better write up + upload better pics considering how many things on this guitar are not stock but this fetched a reasonable price for what it is.

Re: Misrepresented & FAKE COPY JEM7s on e-bay or local stores - Made in China
That's no JEM, LOOK AT THE HEADSTOCK! Wrong shape, wrong logo (too thick).
And
GOLD trem
posts? Could it be where the crap Chibanez trem once was which has gold posts?
Now if that's a JEM, the neck is fake, at the very least. The pickguard is ill-fitting, especially around the middle single coil, there's gaps, plus the lower horn is slightly off.
If that's a JEM, it's a turd of a JEM and certainly not worth $1370. Again, the neck is fake, 100%.
Look at the real headstock, note the position of the tuner on the far left above the
truss rod

I like this part in the Q&A section:
Q: You have not seen this version before because it is a chinese copy and not a genuine Ibanez.
A: ok if it is its a good one though.
Apparently the same mental faculty used in distinguishing fakes via obvious visual discrpencies is the same one used for understanding that you don't have to (and in these cases, shouldn't) post all the questions you get about items. And this guy is missing it completely.

Dudes, check this one out:

I contacted the guy and very politely told him he was selling a fake and that he should be honest and put in the auction description that its a replica.
He insists its real. You know what they say about a horse and water...

I think he knew it, it's a fake, he is trying to sell it anyway. If he can surf or post on the ****, than searching for an original Ibanez pics is not a problem for him. Don't tell me he is that stupid.

He describes it as a Jem Jr. I don't think that's wrong. Did he change it after you contacted him?

Dude, he describes it as a "Ibanez JEM 7VWH" which it is not. There were no 7VWH's made in Korea.
Also, the JEM Jr. is a 555. This guitar isn't even made by Ibanez. It has the tell-tale signs such as the tuners saying "Ibanez". The tuners are supposed to be Gotoh. Also, he doesn't show the full headstock, but if he did you'd see that the position of the E string tuner is not correct in comparison to the
truss rod cover
.
Its just a fake and he hasn't changed it. He said he'll take it to a guitar store lol. Yeah and the kid working at GC who is saving up for that B.C.
Rich Warlock
with red spiders is gonna know the difference.

Re: Misrepresented & FAKE COPY JEM7s on e-bay or local stores - Made in China
Mate, you're right about the title. I really never knew what model Ibanez called the Jem Jr. The pictures clearly show the Jr after the Jem and the seller clearly states that "this is the Korean made Jem Jr". I actually thought that the 333's were made in China. But then again, the back of the headstock shows JEM7VWH, which it shouldn't if it were a real Jem Jr.
The Jem Jr is a 333 and was "developed" to combat the Chibanezes. It is the cheapest possible Ibanez Jem, but it is still an Ibanez-licensed guitar so technically not a fake. Personally, I think that makes it pretty fake as a JEM though.
Sure it could be fake, but why fake a 333? It doesn't make sense to fake a Jem Jr.

I've had a convo with this seller and explained to him what he has, and he just has pulled the auction down.
The guy was an honest seller, just misinformed as to what he had.
