hey guys, new here, sorry if this has already been talked about, but have any of you guys seen this topfine888 website, they have a whole bunch of these jem fakes but also gibsons and fenders to, are they all fakes? I emailed the guy about the jem, he said it was made in china so I asked for the serial number to see if it matches the ones talked about here. This is getting crazy, good thing a came across this forum, thanks guys.

Looks like a Jem555 neck. Do 555's have the angle route for the input jack?

Please tell me you're not serious. 555's have the angled jack.

Best rule of thumb, if a company is selling one fake line, more than likely the rest is coming from the same source.

Yea, but can't you count 10 other things wrong with it from just a cursory glance?!

Sure I can count a few more e.g. gold volume and tone knobs, but the seller could explain the hardware differences away with simple replacements. For instance he says it has a floyd rose bridge which explains the lack of a lo trs II or edge III. But a different input jack would be much harder to rationalize as a simple hardware replacement. I hate the fact that he did not include a better picture.

Re: Misrepresented & FAKE COPY JEM7s on e-bay or local stores - Made in China

It's a 60 y/o "woman" who claims to know everything about guitars and music, and threatens to sue for slander and harassment

Non Allen pole "EVO's"
Swoosh starts at the D tuner.
Guard is too dark.
No angled jack.
Hardware is a dead giveaway, nothing has been changed.

She previously claimed the serial number did not start with C and since all Chinese fakes used a serial number that started with C it couldn't be a fake. Of course she's edited that out after I told her by all means an original 555 would have a serial starting with a C. Click the revised link, I think she's up to 7 revisions now.

OK, only half the tells on cursory, but if she put up a picture of the back we could easily add 10 more

I missed the non-allen pole "Evo's". Good catch. I did laugh at the C = Chinese Fake serial number bit. I emailed her. I will let you know if she/he/it responds.
