Prototype? Have a look at the close-up of the body pyramid, it's the later design.

I could be wrong, but I think this guy is off his rocker. Any ideas on this?

That's Rich Pike, Steve's old assistant. But nice catch, that would infer that the body possibly is a later replacement as the first issue BK's did have the outline around the pyramid.

I thought this was kind of suspicious since it got on the bay, but I have no idea. I just wonder why he hasn't posted a picture of the back of the guitar, where the serial number might be...

Hi there,

Yes, the guitar is real. The prototype didn't have a border around the pyramid. The guitar also has no serial number - as is the case with many of Steve's prototypes.

This is the very same guitar Steve was photographed with in all those photo sessions.
