It's Only Cosmetic!

I was just looking around on e.b.a.y. (130200096494) and did a DNA search and came up with this. Here's what I thought was funny

Quote:
As you look at the slide show, you will note [b]a line on the back[/'b]. This line is under the clearcoat and cannot be felt. There are a few spots on the back surface that have either too much clear or tiny flaws in the clear. These are strictly cosmetic and since the back does not show, they should not be of any concern beyond my full disclosure. This level of detail is why my feedback is perfect.
That line would be a crack that magically got there because the body wasn't property sealed first....or perhaps not sealed at all.(?) However, it's of no concern apparently as it's only cosmetic.

Check out the pics. The colors are, well, plentiful. Looks like every color the guy could get ahold of to do the swirl, but doesn't look that bad....except for the CRACK.

It's a Nate Perle swirl. Imo not that nice. I prefer a Herc Fede swirl.

Then again, just hand me over an original dna

So you are saying moisture entered the wood then Courtney? Potential future problems?

Definite potential for future problems! Maybe not right now, and myabe not ever, but over time the stress that the guitar sees could eventually crack the clear coat and maybe eventually warp the wood locally in that area. Not enough to do anything to the position of the body in relation to the neck, but definitely enough to raise or lower several strands of wood along the crack. It's not a good purchase in my opinion.

That swirl looks a little "Jaggity" for my taste.
