I've got one too which I ressurected by re-chroming the pickguard.
I say keep it.
I couldn't stand the stock evos and swapped them out for Breeds, the guitar now sounds much better to my liking. I've always felt that the jem90 was not a particularly resonant guitar as compared to my other guitars. It sometimes can sound a little dead in terms of its tone. I felt the stock Evos accentuated this and worked against allowing me to find a sweet spot on the 90th. I think it's most probably due to the finish and the fact that it has an
ebony fingerboard. Again this is my personal opinion with regards to my tastes on tone. Your milage with your 90th could differ.
However given a proper setup and tweaking by a trusted local
guitar tech and close friend of mine, my 90th sounds great now. But I still think my FP sounds the better of the 2 jems I own.
I have not played this guitar anywhere except for the comfort of my home, and like yourself, my 90th spends most of her time in the case. Up until now.
I'll be taking her with me to rehearsal tomorrow night.
If all goes well, she'll see some live action on saturday!
