jem buyers beware

Make Sure You Purchase Your Items By C.o.d. Cash On Delivery, If Not All You Might Recieve Is A Thank You Or A Piture Of Your Purchase. Whenever I Mention I Want To Pay For The Item I Want By C.o.d Which Is Recommended By Any Postmaster When Ordering Items Off The Internet All Of A Sudden Theres No Response From The Seller So Beware An Expensive Lesson Will Be Learned

Re: jem buyers beware

Glad you mentioned it.
Thanks for the info.
I just ended up buying a gorjusss Jem but used Paypal instead.

I'm sure it should work out A OK for me.
I'll definetly keep the C.O.D. thing in mind for the next purchase.

Thanks

Squeeg

Sellers, never send a guitar COD unless you absolutely trust who you're sending it to.

Buyers, if in doubt, USE ESCROW!

Re: jem buyers beware

depends what you mean by cod*. i believe fedex has a cod service that would be bulletproof for both the buyer and seller. as i understand it, the payment is made to fedex who in turn pays the seller. sounds fairly safe. i'm sure there's a premium to be paid for the service.

*i make a point of not using capitals. cod refers to cash on delivery, not a type of fish)

Re: jem buyers beware

Just thought I'd let everyone know
UPS, FEdEx and all the others will not do COD OUTSIDE of canada.
so if you live in canada and are buying something and want it sent COD it will not be done!

And perhaps some of these unscrupulouse sellers will know this.

just a thought!

If someone asks me to send a guitar COD I'm going to simply tell them no, once I stop laughing. Escrow is the way to go if you don't trust the seller for some reason. If you don't trust any online seller, just buy in a store and pay for the peace of mind.

No shipper has a COD service that guarantees the payment to the seller is good.

Re: jem buyers beware

An unknown buyer asking a seller for COD is just as unreasonable as an unknown seller asking a buyer to pay by Western Union. You just don't do it.

Re: jem buyers beware

So... exactly what have you got as an **** buyer (me in this example (-: ) who sent money to a foreign country (from NL to UK in this example)... until the guitar arrives in good shape?

**** policies against fraud? Can the law do anything for the buyer if nothing happens?
