JEM77FP2 floral pattern
anyone wanna comment on this new floral pattern jem?i find that the quality and make not as good as the older JEM...the neck feels soft and the body is very light...and its not as popular as the older version....and the neck joint plate doesnt have the JEM wording and serial number....it looks cheap...and the price is more expensive than the white jem.Any feedbacks and opinion on this?

Re: JEM77FP2 floral pattern
I love mine, after I added the Red/Black humbuckers and Red single coil cover.
It looks bad with just black pickups in it.
The two color vine s really nice.
The craftsmanship is great on mine, it plays very well.
It's like any other loud Ibanez, you either like the look or not.

Are you sure you got a real Jem, and not a Chibanez?

Re: JEM77FP2 floral pattern
The real FP2s have a blank chrome plate on the back.
Fake FP2s have an AANJ.
I wish it was the other way around.

aanj neck are better for access and bending on higher frets...but the bolt plate look nicer..better if theres a JEM and serial number stamp

If you have baby hands. I personally don't care for the aanj that much. I prefer the tone I get from a square heel. There is a difference and I can also note far superior sustain.

i have played the white jem with aanj neck so far to me the sustain difference almost the same compare to this fp2...but i prefer square heel joint because it look nicer...but true its much more easier bending 24 frets with aanj neck compare to square bolt joint...its the matter of getting use to it and slight adjustment of hand positioning playing square heel joint neck

Re: JEM77FP2 floral pattern
Man, I've played so many Jems, and the FP2 plays just like the rest. No two Jems even of the same model will play exactly the same, setup has a lot to do with it.
If I was buying any new jem, it would be the 70v or the FP2 (just a preference). Older jems... whichever looks best.

Totally with you there. I still have a soft spot for an original FP. I have enough pretty jems for now, I want another funky jem. Something swirled or another 777
. I totally get ya though. Currently I have a 7Vwh and a 77VBK. I jive better with the VWH for now. It's from a good era. 2000 , so it has the ebony , 1pc quartersawn maple neck and the lo pro edge. my 2011 VBK has the 5 piece neck and the edge pro. I don't mind the neck, but it feels so new and furniture like. It's like too perfect, and I like to have a smooth surface , but not necessarily matte finished. That's what I like about the Jem's though. Every model comes with it's specs

Re: JEM77FP2 floral pattern
I thought about 70SFG.
After talking with a few people, I dropped that idea.
I've had bad fretwork on a few Indonesian Ibanez guitars.
Ibanez is not doing good fretwork on Guitars from Indonesia unless you get lucky.
The wood on the necks are not as good either.
I'd have to see and play one in person before I'd buy it.
I've also heard that the trem studs pull out on some of them when you yank up on the trem hard.
You get what you pay for.
