JPM advice needed?
So I have a deal in the works to acquire a JPM P4. I have 2 questions, first what is a good round about price? The guitar is real clean and has only minimal scratches, but there is no paperwork on it which leads me to question #2. Outside of taking the neck off is there a way to tell if its original or a "custom made JPM" Thanks for the help in advance.

Re: JPM advice needed?
I think I sold my JPM for $1400 last year. Mine was the black and whiie. Not sure what number that is. Like the Jem and the JS, it's the only guitar that sounds like a JPM. If you want JPM tone, you gotta buy a JPM. It seemed that the middle pos is the clincher for the JPM tone on a clean channel.

P4 will run you about $1,200 to 1,800. in good condition, personally I would not get a P4 unless you're really into the camo stuff. P1,P2 and P3 are more rare and will cost you a lot more but are nicer looking IMO.
My 2 cents.

True... True... I used to own JPM100p2 and that clean tone/mid position was IT! Somehow I just didn't "connect" with it overall, so it's gone
, but some day I'll definately snatch one again!

All I know is I got a Steve Special in the bridge of my first
custom guitar
, and through my pod with my custom Petrucci Clean patch gets that petrucci tone 99.99%, which is good enough for me

Ya I think your right, I thought that the camo might grow on me, but that doesnt seem to be the case, so my quest for a p1 continues.
