Yeah, this is a shame. Between Legacy, Sims, Woods, Devries and our old pal Ed R., makes you wonder if there's a dependable North American luthier. I'm sure there is but they certainly don't get the focus here that the ones I mentioned do. Please, if anyone knows of a luthier in North America who is worth a damn and honest, start a thread and tell us about them and their work. Jaden gets very good reviews and far as I can tell, complaint free but he's in the UK. That's not a bad thing but that exchange rate to Euros can be a killer sometimes in this sucky USA economy.

Re: Legacy One Guitars OFFICIAL THREAD

totally agreed Jack... that damn euro is killing us in Canada as well. If there was someone that could build a great custom guitar in North America, within decent time frames and decent communication, they would make a killing.... I havent had any experience with sims but the stuff looks nice that ive seen, but from what ive heard in previous posts, i wouldnt go there either

hi guys... shame on you and good news. you have to pay in brish pounds in GB not with the EURO. and the EURO kills the pound aswell!!!

visit Jadesn page and you will recognize, that the prices are pretty ok. you have to pay for my signature (the mahogany version in the second pic) JHM7 guitar just 1300 pounds.- the 6 string version will be about 1200 pounds! you have the choice between different specs.

Re: Legacy One Guitars OFFICIAL THREAD

I've gotten $190 out of $237. Not sure what the hold up is exactly, but it is a start.

I went to put together the body I got from him today, and the switchcraft output jack is too short to put a nut on. Not sure if the route is too deep or the Ibanez output jack is longer. The switchcraft jack is 2" long overall, but like an 1 1/2" length on the thread. It is probably 1/4" too short in the thread reaching through. Anyone know if Ibanez makes their jack longer or did he route the hole wrong? After that neck, I'm guessing the later.

I just finished the above DNA guitar, and i had 2 jacks to work with. One was about 1/8th" too short to use and the other worked. Both were from Ibanez guitars. I would sand the section down to fit the jack you have. That might be the best case senario, or find a slightly longet jack?

Re: Legacy One Guitars OFFICIAL THREAD

I took a dremel to it today. I put a sanding drum on it and went to town. I got it to work. It ain't pretty, but it is covered by the cavity cover plate. I think the switchcraft output jack I had was the longest one they make. At least I could find. I went to stewmac and allparts. 2" was the longest I found.

Re: Legacy One Guitars OFFICIAL THREAD

So after he posted on here recently and seemed genuinely concerned and willing to work with people (as is his usual style), I PM'd him to ask him if I could send my body back to him to have him route the neck pocket correctly and route the input jack that he conveniently left off. I also offered to pay some extra money if he would add the handle and claw, which I had originally not asked for. No response.

Personally, I'm not surprised. I sent the message more to prove a point to myself.

Re: Legacy One Guitars OFFICIAL THREAD

yeah its no surprise, i offered him the chance to make it right to by giving my $850 back, of course no word from him... He has to do it so new customers dont get spooked, hes trying to make himself look like the good guy, i just hope no one falls for it like he says they are.... I also reread his post where he stated
